I'm going to be harping on and on about this all of this season as well - I just don't understand why it's such a shame to send a semi long pass up to a midfielder or attacker when we're trying to play out from the back. All of these risky short passes often ending up with panic situations, when we could perfectly well pass the ball 20 meters to an open attacker further up the pitch with far less risk, and potentially more reward. I don't get it, but I'm not a football coach.
