Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

so on fracking tonight for the Tories:

Vote to support, then in 2024 every Labour running MP will turn up at the doorstep saying "you know your MP voted for fracking in your area?"

If they do not vote to support, then they're excluded from the Party, meaning they can't put a letter in to oust Liz.

It’s a bluff, they can’t get rid of everyone who will vote against it.

Maybe she did it on purpose, rats from a sinking ship.

Quite possibly.

Looks like the 3 lime whip strategy for tonight is not going to work in all cases :

Plus earlier William Wragg announced he’s handed in his letter to Graham Brady and would adhere to the 3 line whip just so that his letter would still count.

I reckon Truss will have resigned by the end of the week.

I think fracking is a good idea.

Can't be arsed to read through this thread but my own view is we will have a labour government soon and deservedly, so it should be them that decides what happens. Pointless to start something the next lot will reverse.

We need a general election. My position is the same as it has been since brexit. Labour for me unless the leader talks about going back in. If he does I sit on the sidelines.

This was raised a few pages back, but I don't think you got involved. Apologies if I misremembering that.

If joining the Customs Union was put on the table, how would you feel?
(Not Single Market, just Customs Union.)

I don't get why you'd pick an obese smoker as health secretary, maybe Liz is that dumb but it doesn't seem to get mentioned a lot. She's also a nut job - sees no issue with parents smoking in cars with their kids. Worked in the tobacco industry as well.
