This picture pretty much encapsulates the last 2 1/4 years - full of bravo, but with a fundamental underlying flaw for anyone that's paying attention.

Just as a point of principle, every parliament it should relocate to the poorest town in the UK. Just as a measure of their task/a bit of grounding. So at the moment they would be based in Jaywick in Essex.

Given how terrible the transport links in this country are that would be an interesting approach. 650 people flying backwards and forwards to Scotland and NI several times a week doesn’t seem like a great thing.

Just once a week each way - they usually do London Mon-Thurs, and their constituency Fri. So there's no real change. But making them experience what everyone else does, away from the Westminster bubble is the basic point of it.

It would also be good to make the media, civil service and all the associated circus decamp as well. Which again would be good for the country and for the balance/sense of perspective of those groups
