Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

Musk is interesting because there is now a lot of hate towards from people who thought he was the saviour.
His following has almost flipped.
He’ll not last another year in an alliance with Trump. He’s served his purpose now , and Trump can’t stand having anyone in his orbit who has a bigger ego and demands more attention than him.

I generally don't listen to what Trump says.

I despise the man, I avoid the news as much as I can, most of it is BS on both sides of the political spectrum.

And there is nothing much to be happy about.

I, too, despise him and yes, W.W.E. media rules...but you'd do well to investigate project 2025!

I know that and you know that, but a lot of people don't, and this is where I think the Democrats failed spectacularly.
They allowed the narrative about them to be focused on stuff that is not as important as the economics of life.

As I said in another post, if anyone really thinks that any politician or political figure is really interested in the common man they deserve all they get.
America has declined economically within the real economy in the last few years. Its been really tough on average Americans.

I actually have huge respect for Sunak and Hunt as to how they handled our economy in comparison - you look at so many other countries where inflation and economic instability were allowed to run rampant- in the US you had mid-sized to small banks failing left right and centre. You had rampant inflation but flat wage increases. Continental Europe has also really suffered economically.

In a way the fact Labour got in with a big landslide is a testament to the job Sunak and Hunt did. People tend to turn to extremists when they're under the cosh. The global trend is to turn to far right or far left. The UK massively bucked the trend in voting in a centre-left party. That only tends to happen when people feel safe.

Never forget the US is a country the size of mainland Europe.
Far easier to divide and keep divided.
Rather not, without reading anything it's going to be a shower of shyte.
If only it were simply a brown shower...it threatens to be worse than that.

Why am I not surprised.

How bad do you have to be to lose to him....

I will look at it at another time, or watch you youtube on it, easier for me watch things like this than read them.

In fairness it is a massive document and I have only read several 'edits' of it.
The issue in the US is that politics is fought on personality and buzz phrases, not policy. Had the dems got, say, Duane The Rock John son as a candidate/VP candidate, they'd have been roaring. The other truth is that Americans would rather not be governed by someone without a penis...being led BY a penis is apparently OK...

Just watched a youtube video on it.
America is f*cked and heading for civil war or the break up of the USA.

Also read that the Democrats lost something like 15 million votes...

What do the democrats think was going to happen if you played identity politics, pushing CRT in schools, backing and being backed the entertainment industry that has been woke as f*ck and repeatedly stated if you don't like it you are a racist bigot... Supporting BLM who are pushing communist ideology hiding behind the deaths of a tiny number of such as the break up of nuclear family...

People just don't understand how much damage this woke agenda has done to the democrats and the people of the UK, just don't understand what a battle ground it has been.

And the other problem is, people don't vote for weak leaders, how many times are the Democrats going to ignore WWE slug fest that is the way they do politics, especially Trump.

Like I said, Starmer is weak, people didn't vote for him, he got less votes than Corbyn, and if Reform wasn't involved the Tories would have won again. Starmer is going to to wiped out in the next election, the entire front bench of the Labour party are blithering idtiots... Lammy is a disgrace as a foreign minister and giving the Chagos islands away was pathetic.

Who wins the next election is going to be down to what happens between the Tories and Reform. Labour have already lost the next election.

People laugh at me and take the p*ss out of me, and I don't care, becaues it is that attitude that helped give the world Trump and project 2025. You are not listening and being insulting to the people who are telling you there is an issue.

It's clusterf*ck of epic proportions and the left only have themseves to blame.

There is a discussion to be had in the wider sense. I have long, long said that the typical right-wing agenda convert over the last 8-9 years has been the person who doesn't actually want to have to say anything much about anything, doesn't actually care one way or another (live and let live attitude) but resents being framed as 'right wing' because they don't 'speak up' or represent a belief publicly. I DO think the likes of Cambridge Analytica, Tik-tok, etc, saw how that frustration could be weaponised and used as a tool of further division/middle-path erosion.

I actually have a degree of sympathy for (say) a 57 year old block from (say) Harpenden who simply wants to get on with it, have a spot of dinner, get a pint and occasionally watch a Carry On film yet who suddenly finds themselves judged because they have not implicitly and loudly spoken out for, say, climate change initiatives. I get their frustration and I think we have to work harder.
But equally, it is incumbent on them to realise that they are being weaponised. Because most people who (say) passionately support a climate change initiative don't label people as right wingers if they don't speak out loudly with them. The agents of chaos within whip that division up and everyone tumbles into it. Everyone. Even I do sometimes, before I take a moment to crawl out. Anger and frustration is not an excuse, albeit a lack of education most definitely, and in this regard there have been systemic failures in public education for decades.

And yes. It has long been the dems issue, that they can never quite adjust to the game being played.
