Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

I suppose when the incoming president tells the electorate during the campaign that “after this election you won’t have to vote any more”, having previously incited an insurrection when he lost a free and fair election, it tends to set a few alarm bells ringing.
He must have missed that statement "There are none so blind, as those who cannot see."

Labour will lose because they will do f*ck all to end mass migration.

Not deport all illegal immigrants and those that crossed by boats.

Imprisoning people for being correct, regarding the stabbings.

Labelling the majority of people far right.

People ain't gonna vote for a c*nt who hates them.

I said it before and i will say it agsin.

Don't listen at your peril.
Hyperbole much? "Labelling the majority of people as far right." Really? Methinks you are the one out of touch...out of touch with reality.

Don't listen much?

Me thinks you don't want to face reality.

Just sick your fingers in your ears singing la la la la.

The left/Democrats just got oblitorated in US and you just don't learn.

Just insults and thinking you know better.

And you will under estimate Kemi Badonoch, insult her, hear what you want to hear, then wonder how she become the next PM.

Consider what you just wrote. You stated that Starmer labelled the "majority" of British people as far right. What nonsense. But hey, I guess it makes sense in your addled head.

You said you found the issues around the vaccine confusing so I was just trying to pass on the "inside info" I'm aware of.

I think the word (or inference?) you're missing in my 'confusion' was 'conspiracy'.
I was always confused regarding why there was a conspiracy theory behind the production of the vaccine.
I was stating my belief that such things are in constant development, and as such the 'publicly short' turnaround time was a poor measure of the entirety of the process, given that research is continual and the root of this particular series of vaccine researches could well have been a decade (as I indeed found out was the case).

I am actually a little sad that you somehow possibly conflated me with a vaccine conspiracist?

When all these people say that a trump victory brings democracy into question I'm not sure what they're implying - that voters only get to vote for people they like in a true democracy? I'm unsure, but it's a common theme from many that democracy is only properly functioning if people they like get voted in.

Oh dear.
Look, here's the dialectic for you. 'Voters have chosen the person they want AND it brings into question the future of democracy'. Please tell me you don't need it to be defined further.

Of course, bear in mind that I don't necessarily define what the US has as a traditional 'democracy' given you don't even get to be heard on the stump in a small town in Iowa unless you can start at around 10 milion dollars.

But what he says is kind of irrelevant - he was democratically elected. Churchill said the greatest argument against democracy was a 5 minute conversation with the average voter.

You can be as obtuse as you like, I refuse top believe you don't see the full scope of the game in play.

I mean my point, whether in America or here, is that it doesn't matter what someone says - Trump is very open about who he is, warts and all. Not in a self-reflective way of course, more in a "what he is, is there for all to see". People voted for him in huge numbers. That's democracy. If there was a democratic vote to end democracy, would that be undemocratic? Interesting debate question right there....

That's EXACTLY what just happened in the US.
You don't have to 'debate' it, just watch and see your answer unfold.
The only thing Trump is open about is that he lies repeatedly. I, too, have said that no-one can accuse of him lying about what he is, the problem is that thanks to Reagan absolutely fudging public education back in the day, you have an angry and relatively uneducated swathe of people who have been fudged by the promise of trickle down economics, see every Democrat as a communist dictator, and thus end up seeing silver tongues billionaire liars and thieves as their saviours. Thus a vote which has effectively ended 'democracy'? Is it 'undemocratic'? THAT depends on your definition of true democracy!!!!

Perhaps the more interesting debate question is whether lying matters in a free society?

Exactly how did that happen?

You saying that there is not going to be another election USA?

Many pathways, many reasons, all which have been discussed here.

I think it is worth taking him at face value. He has suggested he will be investigating the abolition of term-limits, etc. As for a 'fair and free election' again in his era, what do YOU think?!
