OMT - Tottingham Hotspurs v Manchester Utd

Their players whole demeanor arose from their taco of a manager. Really hope Ajax beat them in the final. That would teach them such a lesson.

They better do better next season because he gets sacked the one after that

I want him sacked asap. Really hate his brand of nihilistic football combined with buying in overpriced superstar game changers.

Everyone at a club gets tinkled off with him being divisive and shifting the blame after a couple of seasons. He then gets sacked in the third when they've had enough and the players stop playing for him. Not long to wait.

I just heard the after match whine from Mourinho about how he has some injuries. I don't think it was the full interview but did he at any point congratulate Spurs, or mention the occasion?

No he did not. I have just watched it. He spoke about our players being motivated because it was the last game at home and we were trying to win (alien concept, clearly), as if that was something just a little distasteful on our part. Other than that it was all about Utd not being able to field a balanced team, players having to play out of position, players being rested, being protected. They gave away two bad goals and it could have been 2-2. Only have 15 players to play PL and EL. And he walked out.
Totally ungracious. But who would have expected otherwise. The man has become a total parody.
Please let Ajax win the EL final.

I suppose I shouldn't have expected anything else.

I kinda liked him during his first stint at Chelsea. He didn't take himself that seriously back then and it was amusing watching the media lap up all his inane drivel. Now he is a bitter twisted prick.

To see Ajax turn them over would be delicious.

I can't believe what the media still let him away with. Yet to see one interviewer with the balls to question the rubbish he spouts.

I'm genuinely saddened by what he's become. He was mischievous, roguish, and endlessly entertaining when he first arrived - whether it was his instant feuding with Wenger, his witty quips, his pandering to the media (that almost instantly fell madly in love with him, right from that 'Special One' moment) or his air of continental sophistication, he brought a breath of fresh air to a league that had been steadily reduced to an endless Wenger-Ferguson dupoly in the years prior to that. When we were linked with him back in 2007 (upon his departure from Chelsea the first time around), I was so desperate for us to get him that it was almost physically painful - even my guilt at knowing that this would mean f*cking over BMJ didn't stop me from dreaming.

Now...Christ, he's a different man. A decade of football has passed, and he's lost everything...absolutely everything that made him memorable in the halcyon days when the world stood captivated by his sheer charisma. He's dour, bitter and broken. There's no twinkling light shining in his eyes. No ready laugh or witty pun waiting behind a mischievous smile. No tactical brilliance. No insights into the game, life or anything. No charm. No grace. No presence.

No Mourinho, really. At least, the Mourinho I remember from before his first departure. Before he went to Inter. Before he took the job at Madrid and collapsed into a mess of accusations, angry tirades about being betrayed and snarls about conspiracies. Before he came back to Chelsea and slowly turned everyone against him, including the media that had eagerly been awaiting his return but then grew increasingly bored with him as new stories, personalities and plots turned him into an irrelevance.

Now, that Mourinho is a distant memory. What we have is a nearly lifeless, bitter, habitually antagonistic clone. And that genuinely saddens me - more so because he's generally been quite respectful (by his standards, anyway) of us over the years.

I think it's time we stopped to think about what we're saying here. All teams have games like this when they have to defend a lead. Fact is we've had fewer of them than most - if not all - these last two seasons, so is it not time to put this whole thing into perspective and give the team credit for successfully closing games down?

We have after all lost fewer games than any other side in the League this season whilst conceding the fewest goals.

So come on, let's stop looking back at what we used to be and start celebrating what we are now - the most un-Spurs-y we have EVER been.

Agree with this.

There was a moment when Verthongen was given the ball facing his own goal with United players bearing down on him on the edge of the box. In times passed I would've been screaming at him to clear the ball into the stand. Instead I found myself calmly and quietly saying "time" with the utmost confidence he could flick a pass out wide, spin round, get the return and drive us forwards. Have to credit Poch with that change in attitude in most of the fans as well as the players. The rest of you need to get on board! :D:)

It is always sweet beating ManU in any competitions. After all, ManU are the team who have affected us the most on and off the field during the PL era. I think AVB deserves some credit for changing our mentality and luck against ManU when we beat them away and drew with them at home in 2013. Remember, the injury time goal by Dempsey to make it 1-1 against ManU at home in 2013 ? That seems to be our turning point as we are now unbeaten in 5 league matches against ManU at home since then. Hope Pochettino can and the team can continue our good home form against ManU for a very long time and improve our away form against them as well.

Being our last match at WHL, we duly played well and should have won by a bigger scoreline. But we wasted too many chances and failed to kill the game off. It almost became costly for us as ManU managed to score and put pressure on us in the second half. Fortunately for us, we managed to held them off and get this morale boosting win. Credit to Wanyama and Kane for the goals. It was a crucial time for Wanyama to score so early in the first half. It allowed us to settle down. Strangely, Wanyama has now scored in our first and last home league match of the season. Wanyama has now scored 3 league goals, which is more than Dembele or Dier this season. It was also great to see Kane scoring his first ever goal against ManU. He was also unlucky not to score another when his close range header hit the post in the first half. Too bad Alli didn't score but he did have a shot saved on the goal line in the second half.

Our midfield did well to control the match. Was worried to see Dembele not starting in midfield. But the likes of Wanyama, Dier and Eriksen did their part well to control the match. Credit to Eriksen for getting the assist for Kane's goal. But wish Eriksen has managed to score as well. He should have scored from the chance he had after Son's shot was saved in the first half. Son played well but really should have scored from the one-on-one chance.

Thought our defence played well for most of the match but really disappointed with the way we conceded the goal. Annoyingly, ManU had not scored away at any of the top 6 teams and we duly let them score the last ever goal at WHL ! It was a soft goal as Trippier, Alderweireld and Vertongthen should have done much better to prevent the goal. It could have been costly for us as they put us under pressure after that. Well done to Davies for assisting the goal for Wanyama with a inch perfect cross.

We have now completed the season with 17 win and 2 draws at home in the league this season . It was great to stay unbeaten in all our league matches at home for the first time since 1965. We have also won 14 consecutive home league matches for the first time since 1987. It was a fitting tribute to WHL. Too bad our great home form didn't help us win the league title this season. Hope we will extend our unbeaten run at home for a long time to help us win the league title in the coming years.

I didn't feel any pressure after United scored, we handled their switch to hit balls over the top well and created chances at their end, I also thought we should have had a penalty when Jones tripped Dele. If anyone could have do better with their goal it was Eriksen who should have got closer to Trippier.

Did you feel any pressure when Rashford ran through on goal with just Hugo to beat, from a simple ball over the top? I certainly did
The three defenders desperately chasing just did enough to put him off and he poked it wide.

No, Pressure builds up and can cause mistakes and fear, Rashford's chance caused a moment of anxiety, but I never saw any fear in any of our players, we continued to play the ball around with confidence and purpose. This team have balls, now just need the fans to grow some.
