OMT - Tottenham vs Portsmouth, FA Cup 3rd Round, 2022-23

Sess has been awful.
Skipp has lost his attacking instinct after his injury.
Sanchez seems to be in control of his defence well.
Sarr looks so calm and smooth. Contrast that with Gil who looks like a headless chicken at times.

Portsmouth are well organised but we don't get on the end of crosses and are devoid of creativity in the middle.

Hopefully Portsmouth tires anf we might get more openings in attack.

He was always poor and played like a scared 13yo, he did just enough to sell it sometimes
Oh behave. You have no idea whether it is him or the system that we are playing that is requiring him to hold back. He had plenty of quality going forward at Fulham. If you look at Spence he seems to be more willing to break the lines and attack and he doesn’t get game time.

I think Gil has been fine. Working hard and one of the few players who moves

This is the problem with playing a number of younger players all at once, it’s difficult to see what they’re capable of when they’re surrounded by others who normally wouldn’t start. Sure, play Tanganga but play Romero beside him. Play Skipp and Sarr but have Peresic nearby to bring some calm to proceedings. Similarly if Spence is brought on I’d like to see Romero behind him instead of Sanchez.

Sarr showing little touches and movements which mark him out as a good prospect - hope we see more of him over the 2nd half of the season.
Agreed. But we need to give him time to develop for sure, there is already a lot of expectation on his shoulders. Looks like a wonderful prospect.

This has all the hallmarks of a "romance of the cup" tie, dreadful league run, sacked manager, journeyman team, club two leagues below the elite club with big shiny stadium.

He is a championship level player and playing scared is unacceptable at this level.

I would forget Perro and have another try for Max Aarons. HG and cheaper

Haven't seen Aarons enough recently to know whether he's good enough

If Perro is a £40m player, its worth paying. Such an important position in this system
