***OMT - TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs Stoke City***

i think Wenger is right in what he says tbh

i think Wenger is right in what he says tbh - refs are supposed to be impartial as they're professionals, but at the same time as per my post on the previous page -the FA are saying that they aren't impartial hence the ruling they cannot officiate matches involving the team they support. the FA have created the confusion and would be best served removing the conflict of interest rule altogether

completely agree, we either trust them to be impartial in all situations or we don't

I don't think they're saying that all, it's just that it isn't worth all the hassle and attention they'd get every time one of them makes a mistake or bad call that happens to benefit the club they support, they're right to avoid it imo.

But what if one of them went out with a dominatrix a year before becoming a PL ref ?

Should the papers tell us ?

Questions should be asked in Parliament

Lol; i always hear (and even feel) this, but what evidence (apart from his celebrations) is there that Dean is a Spurs fan?
According to this, he's a Tranmere fan :
GRAHAM POLL VERDICT ON APPOINTMENT
There is a precedent, albeit in a different competition. Mike Dean, a Tranmere fan who lived on the Wirral, was named as the 2006 FA Cup Final referee before the semi-finals but once Liverpool went through, he was taken off duty.

Sorry, not meaning to continue digressing on this thread.

Re Monday's game - as others have said, first 11 now picks itself. We absolutely have more than enough to win this. It might not be easy or pretty, but we know we now have the steely edge that we have lacked in the past.
2-0 Spurs.

Wenger has Fokked me off yet again. What's he talking about a worrying precedent? Outside of Football in situations where some one is making decisions affecting someone else, any potential conflicts of interest should be declared and the affected decision maker may be taken out of the process. It is not a criticism of the integrity of Kevin Friend per se. There does not have to be actual bias just the perception of bias. There is nothing to see here, I don't get the fuss and what has it got to do with the French twit anyway. Perhaps he trying to deflect attention from his team of bottlers.

He's just brick stirring to try and take the pressure and deflect blame from his players and put media attention onto us. I don't believe for a second that he cares about the ref being changed and if the boot was on the other foot he would be singing a different song.

What a night. What a performance.

Up there as one of the best awaydays I have ever attended

The support was absolutely awesome and was proud to be a part of it.

Aoplogies but if that is how we play when this site crashes, can it happen again next Monday?

It really was an incredible performance.

Could have been 6 or 7.

Every player had their part in it; not one player had a poor game.

What an incredible season.

It's being written off as Stoke not turning up a lot of places. but I actually didn't think they were that bad. A little toothless, but in the first half they were half decent.

I missed the first 20 minutes, from when I turned on we were 1-0 up but the game was being played in our half, they only really collapsed when the 3rd went in imo

They got out wide a lot, but it mostly ended with Shaqiri pirouetting it out of touch. Arnautovic is getting praise here and there, but he was rank. He simply stopped moving early in the first half.
