***OMT TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs KAA Gent - 2nd Leg***

In all honesty I will be very upset if we are knocked out. Looking at the teams involved we could easily win this competition. A trophy is a trophy and our best chance is the Europa league. COYS

Who exactly are these teams we would easily beat? We crashed out of the CL and now we're on-board the EL Titanic...

Can only hope Winks needed a slight rest before the weekend game. Though apparently it's only my irrational dislike off individual players that makes me tired of the Dembele-Wanyama duo...

Stupid by Alli. Loses his head. I think you're all right that he's frustrated with not getting the fee kick. But I think he's just as frustrated with his own poor touch, quite a typical situation. He well learn.

He is 20 years old. That is not very young. He is old enough to vote and be responsible for his actions.

Of course he is responsible for his actions. It was a poor challenge and he has paid the price. I think people are going a little overboard in their comments about him though, he is still young, he is one of our best players, there is a little bite in his game but his hunger is one of the things that make him good.

Bar an own goal from a corner that wasn't, and a wild tackle it was a decent half from us.

We need runners into the box, and to exploit the flanks. We could get to the line, and pull the ball back.

Get Son on at half-time - for Eriksen, possibly, although it's harsh on him. Get him up with Kane, and get Verts or Toby to act as an auxiliary DM so Wanyama can go higher up the field more. It's risky, but it's what we have to do now.

He did that early and then gave up.

Alli had been fouled 3 or 4 times without so much as a whistle by that point. Not to mention the number of times he'd been blocked off the ball.

He had every right to think he'd get away with it.
They've had bookings before thats challenge so that's gonads mate.
Disgraceful challenge and if that was my team mate he'd be getting right fudging now.

Seeing as we're on the cusp of fudging up against Gent, I don't think you could say we could "easily" win this competition. We clearly can't. I obviously hope we go through, but I think we need to let go of the idea that the Euro League is a cup we can just walk our way to the final in. It certainly looked like the players believed that the way they played in the first leg.

No way. That's just not a considered rational tackle. He loses his head, simple as that.

You might see it as unfair considering previous decisions by the ref. But that's very different.

I would heartily disagree, but we're getting into a largely subjective argument based around the idea that Spurs will 'always let you down', which I figure is fairly (if not completely) unique in English football - the capacity to balls it up in macabre, grotesquely creative ways.

Objectively, 95% of fans in England would kill for what we have. Subjectively, different story entirely.

We're in the tricky position of being close enough to be in with a chance but far enough away that we fall a little short. I still think that is better than supporting a club in the lower leagues that is struggling to stay afloat.

I think some people have to remember Delete is only a kid.

We have played really well tonight. Two silly individual mistakes.

Eriksen is complete class apart at this level.

Winks for Wanyama now? Son for Davies?

If we can keep their focus and patience, we can score. And if we get one, they will get very nervy.

Son for Davies to give us greater goal threat.
