***OMT TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs KAA Gent - 2nd Leg***

Injustice! The corner that gave them the own goal mainly.

Ref also didn't give us a clear corner, and sent Alli off. Yes it was wild, reckless, and a red. But wasn't that bad. Refs been good for them.

Need another striker on, but we're down to 10. Not looking good. With 11 we would get this over the line. With 10 not so sure. Maybe the ref will even things out...

We are terrible Ambassadors for Europe. Much rather we spent a year out of it and doing a Chelsea to win the league. We clearly can't compete on both fronts yet, yet most pundits say our squad is the best. It's not, it's not a bad squad but we haven't really done well in the last 5 years have we.

Based on the tackles the 'ref' hadn't blown up for in the previous 10 mins then it was a yellow at worst.

Obviously a red in any match being refereed properly.
This is nonsense, the ref booked a couple of their players and gave us freekicks. You are like this in every game, so one-eyed and biased it is unbelievable.

So our two star players... one scores and OG and one does his best Charlie Adam impression to get sent off. COYS.
That is part of the problem. We have given Dele Alli the impression that he is the star of the team. Homeboy's head is expecting the refs to treat him like Messi when he is being tackled.

Gent are playing this well for a team of their limited talents. Long ball, aggressive out of possession, lots of niggly fouls that the ref hasn't seen, ride their luck a bit. They'll hit us with a sucker punch in the 2nd half.

Can't see us turning this around.

Only Spurs can go from being 1-0 up early with the opposition rocking on their heels to being 2-1 down on aggregate to a team with no shots on target and playing with ten men in the space of 30 minutes.

Ah, well.

If we by some miracle manage to win this, it will be the stuff of legends. We'd back ourselves against any side if we could win this tie and advance with ten men. And it *is* possible, because Gent have given up space and chances.

But Kane needs to get some sense of pride in his head and not get beaten to every ball by a Belgian league defender, because Walker's putting in some good ones. And everyone else needs to sharpen up and win every 50:50, because that's needed now more than ever.

He did that early and then gave up.

Alli had been fouled 3 or 4 times without so much as a whistle by that point. Not to mention the number of times he'd been blocked off the ball.

He had every right to think he'd get away with it.

In all honesty I will be very upset if we are knocked out. Looking at the teams involved we could easily win this competition. A trophy is a trophy and our best chance is the Europa league. COYS

Plenty of fans have had it worse than us.

I would heartily disagree, but we're getting into a largely subjective argument based around the idea that Spurs will 'always let you down', which I figure is fairly (if not completely) unique in English football - the capacity to balls it up in macabre, grotesquely creative ways.

Objectively, 95% of fans in England would kill for what we have. Subjectively, different story entirely.
