My GHod, that was awful. We could have been 3-0 down at half-time, and we need to buck up fast. Lay into these boys, Tim: there's no excuse for them performing as badly as this. They have had a week's rest: this is down to their mental uselessness surfacing again.

Sigh. A Van Gaal would rip these lads apart, positive reinforcement be damned. I'm wondering if that's what they actually need, though.
 
Would try to get Eriksen central, probably taking off Bentaleb and bringing on Chadli. Harsh on Bentaleb but I think he and Dembele are very similar and neither CM are getting up to support the CFs
 
A long range wonder goal is the only thing that will get is out of this mess..................and I think we've already used that one up today.
 
Let's look on the positive side, at least this managerial change has worked out well.
 
We had 64% possession ?? Ridiculous, palace have been miles ahead more potent in attack. It was frighteningly kindergarden like at the back, really was. Also Soldado and Ade just not fighting for anything. I'd gonad them all - give them ten minutes, otherwise changes to come ...

add that to dawson, rose, vlad, a not interested ade and a typical soldado home performance and that really is mid table papp at its best.
 
For 35mins I dont think we were in the game, palace unlucky not to be 1-0 possible 2-0 ahead.

Rose may as well kick the ball out for a goal kick then try and cross the ball, I'm yet to see a decent cross from him this season.

We have to get Ade or Soldado dropping back more or take one of them off becuase we are getting overrun in the middle, Chamakah is having time on the ball and looking dangerous lol (never thought I would type that)
 
not entirely the players fault ... we're not set up to attack 10 men behind the ball
tim sherwood should've known better and should be making some drastic changes i hope
otherwise - i've seen us do better in such a situation under avb.
 
The gap between the defence and midfield is an issue for sure right now. But I honestly think if the personnel play better the formation could work just fine.

Chiriches is getting bosses physically by Jerome and Chamakh. Rose and Walker have been so poor in terms of possession.

I think the numbers are there in midfield because eriksen drifts so far in field. It means we have nothing on the left but ensures we have enough numbers in the middle. Problem is dembele, bentaleb and Eriksen are all occupying the same vertical space. Therefore Puncheon will just stroll through unchallenged.

The 3 up top for palace have tormented us. Word for Bolasi. Has completely bossed walker.

Dawson been good for us. Lennon remains our only valid option other than ling rangers.

I'd like to see Ade or soldado work the channels too , give them a different problem.
 
This season could just end up petering out from mid-Feb...top 4 unlikely and out of the cups. It'll be like the 1990s Spurs again!

If we ever needed a goal. Shame the Bentaleb or Lennon cross chances did not produce. A goal might help settle the team.

They will not get time to play. They will be hassled all game. The will be tripped and barged. But they have to stand up and be counted and impose their skill onto the game and win.
