OMT ** Tottenham Hotspur v Wolves ** 29 December 2024.

He's been pathetic.
Id argue that too. He has had some very good games this season, but he has been nowhere near the player that always faced us when he was at Leicester.

Lack of confidence, or out of position and gone backwards under Ange?

Yes up to the Chelsea game last year he was immense, but then the injury happened and he has been inconsistent to say the least.

He has been like this at other clubs. I was surprised we gave him a leadership role at Spurs.

I love Sonny but if he starts tomorrow, I give up. He's been poison the last few weeks and he's not a good winger anyway.
Until we know the contractual demands of our players' contracts, there is not much we can do. Ange would have been told what those requirements are and I don't know how much control he has over them.

Sounds silly, but we shouldnt be playing him for 2 reasons.

1) He has been awful
2) I dont think his mindset will be right considering the tragic plane crash in South Korea this morning, we all know how patriotic he is about his country so could be a factor, but obviously dont know how he is feeling, might work for him to want to play, who knows.

Who would you play in his favoured 4-3-3?

I'd go

Forster

Porro
Dorrington
Gray
Udogie

Maddison
Bergvall
Bentancur

Deki
Solanke
Son

I think it is vital we keep some legs and lungs on the bench. We have to keep Werner, Johnson and Sarr for later in the same IMO.

Similar to that I guess. Son would be lucky to make the team if I picked it. He would probably be rotated for Johnson, but I'd move Deki over to the left.

Not really seen as many game as I'd have liked to this season. I still don't really have an opinion whether Bergval gets the nod over Sarr or Biss. What I do know is that Joao Gomes is the one to keep quiet in their engine room. He looks an Ange player to me.

Our leadership in general is one of the biggest concerns for me - A leadership group of Son/Romero/Maddison is poor for many reasons. And outside of them when you look at the team, how many are leaders that you'd back to pull us out of a hole? Kulu maybe has the mentality, beyond that? I'm struggling....

That's what we need. A Lewis Dunk, Dan Burn, Declan Rice, a strong midfielder or defender, preferably English beast who can control and talk throughout a game. We dont have anyone of note do we?

We're not missing Hugo the keeper, but we are definitely missing Hugo the leader, the organiser, the calm voice behind the defence etc.

I'm not sure fans realise just what a great leader of his defensive unit he was. I was never one to have keepers as captains, but I'm a massive fan of keepers as leaders.

I fully agree he needs replacing long term but today we really don’t have much choice. It’s him or Werner who is even more useless. And I don’t even think that he is “better for the system” as I keep seeing. Hopefully Mikey Moore will be back by the time he turns 21.

I really thought we would be coming down to this today as I thought he would be gone by now, as it is I think this could be his finale today, unlucky for us we have Wolves visiting on the back of a morale-boosting victory and we were at a low point with a bare-bones squad

They have decent record against us in recent seasons (well it feels like that at least) and I have a feeling it will continue this afternoon.

A defeat today could leave us in 14th and that could be the end for AP

I suppose the flipside is, back-to-back home games, 2 wins and we could be on the coat-tails of the Toon, its a funny old game
