Good luck to him and Forest on Wednesday against City.
They are going to need it otherwise records might be broken !
Good luck to him and Forest on Wednesday against City.
And he's clearly not off balance.
Was disappointed with the game. All the hype about a good pre season and early recruits debunked by Forest who showed that if you recruit right and a fitting game plan, you can play some good, attractive football.
I think the recruitment strategy going for depth is paying dividents with quality in depth, however it seems that for some reason we've gone backwards towards more agricultural football of the 80's. Happy for the win, but sorry to say that Forest, Wolves have taken our "to dare is to do" from under us.
We need one or two marquee signings to do better than last year imo. We can't expect to win all the time and I hope that when that "unlucky loss" comes, it won't be the trigger for the release of all the pent up emotions caused by the ugly football we are playing now, kept in check by not losing.
I'm not just talking about 1 season, i am talking about his whole time here, he is 100% a streaky player and the last 4 games proves it imo. I have no doubt he will have a red hot patch again and score lots of goals and this form he is currently on will be forgotten. Just watch him in a game even when on form, he rarely takes on a man, he isn't a great passer of the ball and is always passing backwards. If he wasn't so great at finishing he would not be in this team imo. I'm not doubting his ability to scores goals he is world class at that, its his overall game play that i feel doesn't get criticised enough, he gets a free pass for falling over and constantly giving the ball away, i have never seen a "world class" player be that poor in general. Son and Kane when not on form can be terrible. Salah, KDB, Bernado Silva etc still do all the basics properly whether they have a good game or not, i can't say the same for Kane and Son.
I just want to make it perfectly clear that i rate both players highly and i will give credit where its due, its the brick part of their games i have a difference of opinion to most on here. This is the last time i will reply to anything regarding this as its getting a little old now, i have my opinion on these players but clearly it upsets too many people when i express them so i will try and hold back on posting negativity towards these players where i can as clearly my opinion is wrong.
I would love to stick his finger in an electric socket then shout 'And its live"
I also think we have an extra gear that we only used in the Soton game, where we fell behind. Didn't really need it against Forest as we were defending comfortably and took the lead early. And with Wolves we stepped it up in the second half when we needed to and then comfortably managed the remaining of the game.I don't find our football boring at the moment. Question of personal taste I guess. I really enjoy the counter attacks, I really enjoy when we play through pressure. I can accept periods of less possession and defending deeper, it doesn't really bother me. We also don't have the players for a sustained high pressing style so I don't think we have much choice.
There will be points dropped in these kinds of games, just like other teams have and will. As long as we keep creating a good number of good quality chances, like we did yesterday we will keep getting results.
There are issues to be worked on for sure. There are problems that top quality signings would fix. But we also have players still settling in that may make a solid difference. And even more importantly we have two of the best players in the league in Kane and Son who are yet to hit form this season. When they do...

I know we'd like to see gung-ho football from minute 1 to minute 90, but that's not really necessary, as we do what we need to win games.
Good point. Been some talks about our slower starts on here recently. I do think we're using a style where we're not dependent on high energy throughout. But we need to find that balance between being patient and less press while keeping intensity, aggression and purpose.
Yeah. Oldham are gone. Now you're 5-0 up at half time vs Bournemouth.Exactly this, also the leagues different, long gone are the days you play Oldham and expect to win 4-0 by half time, all teams are game and you have to earn the right to play and thats what we do and TBF we do it well. Our back three including when Sanchez plays is now hugely dependable and despite alot of possession conceded we don't see the goal peppered with chances.
We have a plan, it works and we seem like a machine in picking up points, thats key

It was attractive, but not good, they created no clear chances and did nothing to stop our breaks, they were comfortably beaten in the end, could easily of been a bigger margin.
Good football gets points.

Im not really concerned about the style of play aesthetically provided the results remain good. I’m concerned with how slowly we start games. Conte and Kane have both said it’s not planned and we have to fix it. Sooner or later we’ll come up against a team with more clinical finishers who will punish us if we start slow. Completely take the points people make about growing stronger as the game goes on but that doesn’t mean we can’t be more switched on in the first half.
