Sounds like Clark has had an injury or some sort of issue.

If benteke is number 19 May as well put him on the bench.

Hopefully he's only playing because Villa' squad is stretched to breaking point as I don't fancy Dawson and Chiriches winning too many physical battles with Benteke tbh.

I think if I were Chadli, Ade, Defoe, Lennon etc... I'd be thinking if I want a place in this side perform when called upon and you'll be in the side. AVB does try to pick on merit. He doesn't give up on players when they show bad form too.

He is more of a psychological manager as opposed to a coach like Wenger. I get that impression at least.

Interesting that AVB still trying to decide who is best #10 is.
Not sure who is going to be the playmaker though. Sandro or Paulinho not really that player, and Holtby will be too far forward.
Also, if Villa show Siggy and Andros inside, or they cut inside all the time, it will get very congested in the advanced midfield area. So it will be interesting to see how that works out too.

I think Holtby is much better suited to winning the ball back high up the pitch than Eriksen. Eriksen is more likely to start at home than Holtby as we'll have possession easier.
