it's a squad game, whats good having good depth if we're not going to use it. We have a Europa League game midweek.

Woohoo!! AVB must be monitoring my posts! :D Feel confident now that we'll pick up the points. Good to see Chiriches starting at the back too and Vertonghen at left back, replacing Naughton. Other than the possible inclusion of Lamela, instead of Sigurdsson, I very much like the starting team.

In this years formation we don't play with orthodox wingers at all and it doesn't make sense to. I do wonder howAzza fits into AVBs plans. I know AVB clearly rates him highly

cutting in from the left perhaps? defensively very good to help out Rose, cuts in and causes havoc, interchanging with Townsend/Lamela.
 
Good team. Great to see the best back, interesting to see Chiriches in his PL debut. Glad we have a left footed player on the left side this time around.

With Roy in attendance today, it's another great chance for Walker, Dawson & Townsend to press their cases.

And for Defoe, Lennon and Naughton to show what they can do, if given a chance today.

I can't argue at all with AVB's team for today.

Judging by AVB' comments on Friday I'd guess Capoue won't be ready that quickly but yup, Sandro ain't too shabby a stand in!
