Seeing a lot of lineups that feature Alli, Eriksen, Moura, Son AND Kane. For me, that just seems way too open. I'm pretty certain he'll play four of those five and use the other (plus Lamela) as impact subs. Wonder if he might go something like...

Yes, I agree. Several people have mentioned here that Kane should be on the pitch for penalties, if it comes to that. Maybe that is a too defensive way of thinking ("Why not just win it in normal time?"), but I would go for that second team you mention there for that reason. If Winks is fit. We really don't know anything about that yet.

Oh, man, don't even mention penalties, how are we supposed to be able to watch that? brick.

I'm trying to mentally prepare for a defeat, but I can't really do that either, and so will eventually just have to be brickfudged crushed if we lose. I hear people saying they're going to enjoy the occasion whatever the result and blah blah - I'm always a nervous wreck when we play finals, how the fudge are we supposed to cope with a CL final nevermind ENJOY the fudging occasion? I'll "enjoy" watching through my fingers underneath a table in the pub.

I know it looks a bit crazy but I figure:
1. Liverpool's real strengths are pace and their full backs.
2. They are more vulnerable down the middle of the pitch - so start with the same tactics we used against Ajax and then we still have a really strong bench for later on.
Do not start/play Trippier. (Sorry Kieran) he will get torn to pieces against a combination of Arnold / Mane.

The trick is to remember that we'll back. And *know* that we will be back, no matter what happens.

People take the tinkle out of them for it all the time, but Liverpool fans really do believe that next year is their year. It's a belief borne of arrogance, but it is belief, raw and powerful, and it changes fate in its own way. Much like a lack of belief might change fate in the opposite way.

Poch asked us to believe in ourselves, like he believes in us. In Tottenham. Maybe a loss will go down easier if we take his advice, and believe that we deserve to be here, were born to be here, and will be here again, come what may.

I don't get how a back 3/5 is the way to deal with Liverpool's attacking full backs. Seems like it create consistent problems for our full backs and wide centre backs when making decisions on who to track and press.

4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 with wide midfielders putting in a huge shift defensively, tracking their full backs and helping out our full backs.

I quite like that line-up. Would need Son and Moura to do the job defensively against Robinson and Arnold. Eriksen and Alli to be fairly disciplined in central midfield.

If Winks is fit and ready I would start him, but if not this team would do for me.
 
Main starting 11 question in my view is who starts in CM alongside Sissoko. I think its almost a given that we'll play 4-2-3-1 given that a back 3 wouldnt work well against their front 3.

Options in CM are Dier, Winks, Wanyama, Dele and Eriksen

If he was properly match fit, then I'd probably go with Winks, though accepting that that might mean that Moura would have to be left out. However given his lack of match fitness, I think Poch will go with either Dier or Wanyama

I thought about Winks, but Sissoko will do a much better job screening the back four.

Could play Winks in place of Alli and put him alongside Sissoko, with Eriksen roaming behind the front three.. If you wanted more solidity.

I’d rather start with Kane, and get 60mins out of him, it’ll make them think twice about pushing up too high.
 
We’ve tried a back three against wing backs a few times this year, been a disaster every time iirc.

Tricky though, as you’d want Toby and Verts in the line up and also Sanchez for his pace.

No it's not ...

- This is a great opportunity, to use Poch's terms "to be ahead of plan"

But all it really is beyond the rare opportunity (getting to CL final is tough for any side), is a further sign of Spur's progress as a club.

- Don't buy in to the "once in a lifetime flimflam" I have heard that so many times in the past 10 years, when we had the lasagna incident, when Harry's team fell away, when we lost at FA cup SFs, there will always be another time because of how well we are run as a club.

fudge the neutrals, let the media machine hype up Klopp and pile the pressure on them, let us prepare out of spotlight and make it count on the day.
 
I read on Sky "news" that Tottenham and Liverpool Trusts are asking sponsors to return tickets to fans, what a waste of time these people have paid big bucks for these "perks" why would they let their customers/partners down to placate a bunch of hairyarsed football fans. Football has always been like this with tickets to big matches going to sponsors and other groups.
 
Everyone seems to think should start both Moura and Son, but I wouldnt be surprised if one of them are left on the bench. When both have been available in the past Poch has left one of them as sub - probably in order to have someone who can make a difference from the bench and this is a cup final where substitutions are likely to be important in what will be expected to be a close encounter. If both Son and Moura start and perhaps Kane aswell, we really are lacking trump cards on the bench - Llorente is unlikely to be a gamechanger against VVD so having a Moura or Son to release against a tiring defence could be massive....
 
I want to start them both, and like you I dont think we will - but not for the same reason.

Poch isnt so bold as to go all out like that. He tends to try and play safe while posing a threat, and IMO will rather Alli or Lamela in the front 3 as more midfielder/cover than attacker to make sure we have bodies in central areas to try and dominate.

Yes, having people on the bench will be handy - but the primary reason will be in game "safety" IMO.

How would you line up if Winks was available/who would you be dropping from nayenezgani's XI to make way for him?
