Luka Modric
Wow .. seems some people are desperate to prove that we are brick ..
We still have issues to resolve, Tanganga at RB and Lucas at CF alone would tell you that. Add in lack of confidence from a very inconsistent season, several new players bedding in, can we be better? do we need to be better? = absolutely.
What people are missing is this was against one of the better teams in europe, one of the better managers in the world with us under a lot of pressure to make it count with most everyone else dropping points for the week-end.
What they are also missing is how many people who are complaining about us not having more possession are the same people who point to lower level sides who get great results by playing disciplined and making the most of their chances?
We had a tactical approach against both Pool (almost worked, would have if we took our chances) and City (we did take our chances), it's going to take a little while for us to get back to being able to play these teams toe to toe, until then I'm quite happy to see us adjust tactics so it's not a rollover/walk in the park for them.
Tbh I saw a lot of good individual performances and a poor collective one.
But as you say that will come in time, a new manager with different ideas along with a couple of unfamiliar players isn't going to click overnight.
City on the hand had poor individual performance but a decent collective because of the familiarity of the team. They knew their patterns and routes, we've still to get there.
