Look at how Google have had to adjust their algorithms in the last few days to censor out the obscenities of Gay Pride and Black History Month, as an indication of things to come.

Hollywood has already become hugely sexless over the past decade, as the puritanical religious right have been getting their claws into film financing. So expect a continuation along those lines.

And no chance of any non-WASP males being able direct films or tell their stories.

Surely there's enough sex on the internet for all the voyeurs?

BAFTAs were abit........hmmmm for me, not a really great year for cinema with some great films in there if that makes sense. I though Marianne Jean-Baptiste should have been on for Hard Truths, she was great in it.

Don't watch Elevation. I've watched it so you don't have to. There is not an original thought in the whole thing. Why I kept it on and watched it all is something I can't explain. And they set it up for a sequel - sweet baby jeebus, why the fudge they thought that was worth a follow up is a mystery?

I thought the basic plot was interesting, but the writing was terrible. It was obviously low budget, but didn't really notice it that much except for that scene in the mine that was just ridiculously dumb. It might even have been watchable if you'd replaced Anthony Mackie with an actor.

I suppose many of you have already seen The Square. I had only seen this scene from it before (absolutely legendary one), but finally came around to see the full movie. It was a bit slow at times, but overall a very good movie. Østlund has a knack for exploring the breaking of social conventions that is quite liberating.

Wow - the Bond IP has just been sold to Amazon.

6 months then till Bond vs Marvel, with Bond vs Game of Thrones following 6 months after

Soon you won't be able to get a movie produced by the big studios unless it's part of an existing IP. I'm quite happy to have grown up in the 80's and 90's and being able to watch original content.

We will be over-saturated with Bond content like we are now with Marvel and Star Wars. Don’t get me wrong I love both franchises but there is far too much content to keep up with. Make better shows less frequently, I feel like the only streaming service with that business model is Apple.

It also means the next Bond is likely to be Tom Cruise or Zendaya, rather than Dev Patel like it should be.

I saw The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018) by the Cohen brothers yesterday. An excellent anthology-type movie set in the wild wild west. Extremely well written, as always from the Cohen brothers. I highly recommend it! I think it's on Netflix.
