There is talk that todays Punchestown card will be moved to Sunday due to the weather, but thought I would put a few bets on anyway.

Right, I'm off to Brighton tomorrow and have absolutley no fudging idea about horses... Any ideas?

It's hard to say. It is not the best racing in the world, and with this weather there will be alot of non-runners. Flat racing is meant to be for summer weather, so quite a lot of horses will not act on the surface.

The only horse I would consider is Must Be Me in the second race. It's a Maiden and the horses first run. But the horses dam (mum) won and finished second a few times as a 2 year old over 5f there. Must Be Me is a 2 year old and this race is over 5f, so the dam's record says the horse should be fine at the trip.

The dam is owned by the trainer of Must Be Me, so the horse has been bred by them and the trainer does have a fairly decent record with horses she has bred. Also has a decent record in Maidens. The only drawback is the ground, with the horse never having run before and the horse is expected to act on good ground running on soft-heavy s questionnable!

I've had a little win bet in the 3.20 at Epsom:

Thomasgainsborough @ 3/1

It's a Derby trial and I think it is interesting that Aiden and Joseph O'Brien have come over for it with this horse. He is the only horse in the race that has decent form on soft or heavy ground. There is one other horse in the race that has run on soft but ran a shocker, the others have not run on such ground before.

I haven't had a big bet as i've struggled lately, but just trying to make up for yesterday and my treble today which has two non runners because the chases at Punchestown have been cancelled. Just a bet out of interest that O'Brien has sent a horse over to Epsom on a Wednesday.

To be honest, if it keeps raining like this, I'll be tempted to put on a pair of water wings and run it myself!
