The issue with the Scum (and trying to temper the hatred) is anyone can see their board isn't really ambitious, there isn't even a stated desire to win PL/CL/anything. The ugly truth is they are very happy to stay top 4, get out of group stage in CL and charge the highest prices in the country for it. I still think the Ozil buy was a pacify move, not a true statement of intent.

Any top tier manager coming to the Scum is going to want 100M+ (Keeper, DM, Striker, CB cover) and want the support to actually try and win something, I think the Scum's board is not interested in paying/risking funds for that, if they give enough to get top 4 and circumstances allow them to be in a position to challenge, great, but actually risking/driving for that, no ...

Yep you are right will all that. There is a board room struggle that is behind their reluctance to spend I believe and long may it continue. They have massive cash reserves and if the right coach got his hands on it he could truly turn them into a force.

Of the coaches around I think Klop and Guardiola would be perfect for them and for that reason I hope their ambition remains at CL qualification level. A new top calibre coach will come with a list of conditions, like those you describe, and whether it is made public or not you could guess that appointing someone like Guardiola would signal a shift in ambition behind the scenes too. This would be heap bad ju ju for Spurs.

Not since Venables who at the time was one of the best in the world.

I think LVG will end up at Man U and we will keep Sherwood who will then sack in November and replace with Pleat/Hoddle till the end of next season.

Moyes is a dead man walking given their poor league form and impending thrashing to Bayern, add to that the rumblings that their sponsors are not happy with the way the image of Utd is being hurt. It wouldn't surprise me if he goes quietly at the end of the season and Utd have already sounded out possible replacements with LvG no doubt on that list.

If LvG goes to Utd then I think we should see if Martinez fancies a crack at the job, but even his response will depend on loyalty and possible CL participation. Frank de Boer suddenly seems the only real option of any quality.

Love to see Mourinho jump ship.

I am really not convinced on FDB I watch a fair bit of Ajax and they despite having good defenders in Veltman and Blind look very poor defensively. Could see him having problems in the prem and us not being patient.

They messed up by not going for him last summer, I do though believe Mourinho wanted that job above any other the way he often spoke about Ferguson and the club. His ego probably took a big knock when they went for Moyes, so I couldn't imagine him ever going there now, but you're right that would be huge if he jumped ship.

Guardiola falls out with Bayern and leaves >> takes over at UTD?

I have always thought that UTD would keep Moyes on, but these last two results of theirs have been crushing and for the first time I'm thinking he could be given the boot in the summer.

Don't see Martinez leaving Everton for us, they could finish above us, and he will be given more time to build further there, than he would here. I honestly see TS still here in August, unless we melt down between now and the end of the season.

You can only build on foundations though and evertons foundation has always been stability but no money

Martinez is loyal and IMO the next **** boss but with Evertonnhaving zero cash to spend year on year and not having any real squad depth he will look forward to other opportunities if they come in. Everton borrowed against next season ticket money just to buy anyone this summer c the money from Fellaini was on debt. There a cracking club from a moral perspective but you can't improve with loan signings year in year

that would be farkin depressing...i do however believe that if Moyes steadies the ship, Utd will keep him as they make such a show of ensuring continuity and giving the manager time. wishful thinking on my part, i suppose.

We've spent zero net money since 2008.

The only difference has been that we've signed young players with potential who we've been able to cash in on and reinvest (Carrick, Berbatov, Modric and Bale for big profit and most others for modest increases or at least no net loss).

if Moyes is available id give him a go, he'd be even more driven if united sack him
oh GHod no, we may as well keep TS instead......Moyes is a points man, its all about results and not so much about entertainment. Weve had that with AVB, and even with TS where weve racked up the points but the football has been shocking to watch. I want us to play football like Liverpool, like Arsanal, like Everton, like Emirates Marketing Project, they pick points but the football is good to watch at the same time.

fair enough, i'm at the other end of the spectrum, couldn't care less what it looks like, I just want us to win

I want to see good football too. Bores me rigid watching poor football, wonder why I've even switched on. I can understand there being some games in which tactics must be used, and therefore might turn the game sour, but on the whole I can't see why we can't have exciting football that produces solid results. As others have said, if Liverpool and Arsenal can do it....

well, that puts a spanner in Gutters plan for Blind to come with LVG
