Mourinho plus a money-no-object budget is probably as close to a guarantee of success as you're going to get in football. Jose is well aware of the importance of the second term in that equation, though, which is why I don't believe for a minute he will consider us seriously.

But we could not get the wages that some players want so i do not think it will happen, unless mourinho is prepared to build from scratch and get up and coming players, i hope he is.

GG wouldnt be nearly as interesting without its weird and colourful characters, like Gutter boy

thank heavens he was banned from COYS.

another subtle and slightly provocative thread generating good chit chat.

Have to agree GB your writing off Redknapp as though he's gone. Granted I think he WILL but he hasn't yet and IS our most successful manager of the past 25 years. Fact.

Also AVB? That's laughable mate he won't get a job back in he Premiership haha

That is no real endorsement of someones character; you can get banned for daring to say the most benign things to a fellow poster on COYS. GG is a far more grown up forum! :-"

Mourinho, Hiddink of Villas-Boas please

People might not immediately go for AVB however he was brilliant at Porto and only hampered at cheatski by a group of old, over-paid players who ran the club and couldnt be changed. Abramovich needed to given him the scope to build a new generation however he would never do that would he

Mourinhio - is a no brainer, tacitally a genius, a winner with proven pedigree. Can we afford him? i dont think so, well he come here, i think that is unlikely too. So although i would love him in, i just dont think it will happen.
AVB - Another good tactician, it never hurts to fail once after succes as it makes you hungrier. His style and tactics suit our squad more than Chelskis and he is now experience in England.
Rodgers - Has a style and ethic and sticks to it, it would suit our style of play. His teams work for eather other and he has the tactics running through the whole club. Something we need.

I would take AVB or Rogers out of that three as i feel Mourinhio is unlikely even though i would love him to come here.

Mourinho with Rodgers as his deputy and heir apparent for when he leaves to replace fergie.. well, we can dream :)

Voted for AVB as I believe Mourinho would not be attainable one our scale

Moyes would turn us into defensive cloggers - score a single goal then pack back and defend it. He's been doing to for a decade now and nothing ever changes

How about Marcelo Bielsa, loves playing attacking football, and at a high tempo

Communication would be the only drawback for me. Ramos failed monumentally in that regard and I douby Levy would bite the bullet twice

We need someone to hit the ground running and understand the PL

I see Swansea have just one loss (Man Utd) against the top 5 this season. Brendan Rogers is doing a good job. And if they can finish in the top half of the table it would be a hell of a season for them

They shouldnt of lost neither

Rodgers is on SSN Goals on Sunday and I am liking how he is talking about how he wants Swansea to play. Everything that is happening on the pitch seems to be on purpose as it were.

I think he would be an excellent candidate BUT maybe its too high risk for someone like Levy? If Rodgers does it for Swansea for another year and he is just as successful then maybe Levy would not be hesitant? I dont know.

I was just about to post basically the same thing. He comes across really well the way he speaks, analyses the game, etc.. If we did give a young coach a chance when Harry leaves I think he's the best candidate. Could go tits up, but that can happen with any coach. I think he'd have a decent chance of making it.
