I know someone that works for William Hill and day before yesterday someone walked into one of there shops and placed ?ú1000 @ 5-1 on Mourinho being the next Tottenham manager. Hills said no chance and said you can have ?ú100 at 5-1 and ?ú900 at 7/2. The guy accepted. lol

Probably because the guy was just Levy with a transparently fake beard and stick-on Arsenal tattoo. ;)

Jose, Jurgen, AVB or Moyes? - The Next Manager Thread

Just to change the topic about from our on pitch implosion.

Simply, who do you want/think will become our manager in the summer?

The candidates:

1) Mourinho - probably the best manager in the world. Likes London, likes Levy, likes us. The simple question is - will he come knowing he wont have the funds he's become accustomed to?

2) Klopp - incredibly successful (took Dortmund from 13th to champions in 3 years), visionary, plays fantastic football and an excellent track record of developing youth. He's also both liked and respected by players (a combination that's not that common). Probably the best manager not already working at the top of the table in England or Spain.

3) AVB - failed at Chelsea but then we're a whole different proposition. Still has the attributes that made him the most sought after manager in the world 9 months ago.

4) Moyes - can he step up a level, or would he be our Hodgson? The only realistic home grown option and maybe our only choice if we miss out on 4th.

Outsiders - Rodgers, Capello, Blanc, Deschamps, Hughton

Rodgers for me. He has experience of managing in the Premiership, has made a poor squad in Swansea achieve better results than were expected and without abandoning footballing philosophy and he has made some shrewd purchases over time. The questions that will need to be asked, however, are whether he can manage top, top players and their attitudes, whether he can manage in Europe and whether he will be any good in the transfer market when provided with a bigger budget. Unfortunately, the only way that these questions can really be answered is to give him a chance.

I have a feeling it will be Moyes, if we cannot get Mourinho.

I dont think Levy will go for any other foreign manager after what happened with Ramos.

I wouldnt mind Lambert or Rodgers. Rodgers didnt do very well at Reading did he?

Jose Mourinho, with his world-known name, his proven abilities and his knack of winning silverware. He can step us up to the next level without a doubt. My only problem is I don't know how long he'd last at Spurs before leaving

I'm not sure yet that he's anything more than this year's Owen Coyle. Needs to do it at an intermediary club like Villa or Saudi Sportswashing Machine before we take a risk IMO.

I think he would stay for three years - thats when I think Whiskey nose will retire.

Perhaps the irony is yesterday might have got Moyes the job.

> Defeat causes us to miss out on CL
> We can no longer attract options 1-3
> Go to Moyes as a last resort
> Finish 5th-7th every season for the next decade

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has stated his intention to sign a new contract with the club, effectively ruling him out of several top jobs.

The Portuguese coach had recently been linked with a return to the English Premier League with the vacant Chelsea post touted, along with the England managerial role.

But the 49-year-old, a fan favourite at Chelsea, dispelled reports he was set to link up with owner Roman Abramovich once more as he committed his future to Real Madrid.

"I am going to sign a new contract with Real Madrid. I would like to have a place in the club's history," Mourinho told the Daily Mail.

"Real Madrid and I share a project and we are going to carry on with it. Being part of this team is a fantastic and unforgettable experience for a manager like me."

"Madrid is one of the biggest clubs in the world and I feel happy here. I feel they trust me here and I feel I have the complete support of the directors and all the fans."

"I see my future as achieving more things with Real Madrid and better results that lead to us winning trophies."

Mourinho's side are on track to break Barcelona's stranglehold on the Spanish title, holding a 10-point gap at the top of the table.

I'd like Rodgers.

Klopp signed a new contract with Dortmund in january until 2016 and is managing one of the most exciting teams in Europe right now.

He wont come.

Mourinho - I actually think, he will stay at Real.

Dont think Levy wil take a chance on AVB after his Chelsea fiasco - although I actually think, he could become a good coach in the PL. The Chelsea job came to soon for him imo.

And didnt Rodgers sign a new contract with Swans only a few months ago?

Moyes is my best bet - not that I agree with it though.

1. Mourinho

2. Rodgers.

3. The rest.

Klopp would be 2nd if I thought he would leave Dortmund for us, but I don't think he will.

Ironically, I think the thing that could help us get Klopp is wages.

As Arnesen said when he left for Chelsea, if someone offers to tripple your wages, you have to think about your family.

I'm sure Redknapp's ?ú5m pa is an awful lot more than he'll be getting at BVB.

Possibly. Worth a phone call from Levy should it come to that, but I still doubt it.

If we do get him we should try to get Hummels and G?Âetze along with him... ;)

Oh, and Bielsa deserves a mention, just because it would be wonderfully entertaining.

According to that site, Klopp would more than double his wages if given Redknapp's
Spurs apparently pay the 10th best manager wages in world of football
