And I'm saying no, if it was just that then there are plenty of profile 'names' out there we could be all over. Facts are he was spoken about when still being a player as someone who will be a top manager by Pep who knows a thing or two amongst others who also said the same thing. He has learnt from the very best, and the went onto Anderlecht to cut his teeth. Then within a single pre season he has got Burnley to adapt to play by far the best football, which yeah is the Championship but in many ways makes that style of football even harder to implement - all whilst cruising to the league title makes it even more impressive.
Does the fact he was a top player do him any harm? Nope. But to suggest his profile is clouding judgement? Nah. There is far more about him than that, and to be honest I prefer fans to be more underwhelmed because it seems Nuno aside we do better when expectations are lower
