James Maddison

Sounds like Leicester fans are utterly unsurprised by Maddison’s recently downturn in form, hopefully Deki can fulfil that role for the rest of this season so we don’t become as devoid of creativity as when we were dependent upon a wantaway Eriksen.

Eriksen was an absolutely incredible player for us. Probably the most important player in that Pochettino team.

Heartbeat of our team for sure.
At times sadly to our detriment due to our over reliance on his qualities.

That's something I really want to avoid with Maddison. We need to make sure we have genuine competition for him not just for the moments of poor form and injury but also to help push him to keep achieving his best.

Maddison posted a bunch of pics from his Leicester days on Instagram today of him, and the players celebrating with the FA Cup. One of which is below. Dunno what the 'angry' emoji thing is about. I'm not really a social media person, and only check Instagram occasionally. Is this 'normal' behaviour, for players to share images from old clubs?

Am I reading too much into it, but does it seem weird he did this less than a day after the City game and all the furore that came with it?

The emoji isn't angry.

Regardless of whatever happened at Leicester, I reckon people are going too early on Maddison. It’s not like the rest of the team has been playing well and he’s the only one struggling.
Way more in the part of the solution than part of the problem category.

Also think it's quite likely he's been playing with an injury or something that's held him back. Along with being in a team that hasn't exactly been fully firing.

But we do need an option there that is trusted and rated by the manager.

I think we can now say that the key, key moment in Poch's career with us, was when Eriksen didn't extend his contract in the summer of 2018 (remember that he was apparently appalled that his demands wouldn't be met whilst the chairman snaffled a 5 mil bonus). I believe Poch went to CPH to personally try and convince him over dinner. It was made clear by Eriksen he wouldn't renew. I believe Poch then asked Levy to sell him and allow a replacement in (wasn't Fernandes on the radar back then, I think so, I know he came again summer of 2019 and we wouldn't pay the wages) and thus began our slow descent from a place where we had so much. Do you remember it that way too mate?

You get memory notifications on social media, so he has got a memory saying “this time 3 years ago” and he has posted about it.

How we could’ve done with Don Paratici back then to get the painful rebuild underway whilst Levy was focussed on the new stadium.
