Harry Kane MBE

Score one and he'll break Shearer's record. Score *two*, and he'll overtake Messi to become the highest scoring player of 2017 (club and country) - Messi's 2017 is over, so he won't be able to respond if it happens.

He'll be gunning for a brace at the very least, I suspect.

And the Ballon D'or clams would have you believe Kante is better than him. :p

That's Shearer's record equalled, in far fewer matches. As many as 4-5 fewer games, if I'm not wrong.

15 league goals so far this season despite not looking his best for large parts of the season.

And another hat trick for Kane. What a year. What a player.
MOTD says 35 Vs 42 games. That's incredible, more than a goal a game!

Still baffles me the guy has no technique/ finesse and scores with his left/ right, headers, inside/outside the box.

Would love to see him bicycle one in from 30 yards

And according to https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alan-shearer/

Shearer played 90 minutes in every one of those 42 appearances.

Whilst Kane has been brought off early a few times over his 34 starts and missed 154 minutes of action as a result. (RvP 106 mins, RvN 56 mins, Ferdinand 24 mins, Henry 8 mins).

So when it comes to MpG, our Kane is miles ahead!

Kane: 81 Minutes per Goal
van Persie: 90 Minutes per Goal
van Nistelrooy: 100 Minutes per Goal
Henry: 103 Minutes per Goal
Shearer: 105 Minutes per Goal
Ferdinand: 110 Minutes per Goal

His overall game against Burnley was superb. The reason he was so much more effective imo was that he led the line brilliantly and went wide, cane short and basically gave Burnley’s central defenders a nightmare by creating so much space for others.

I watched him closely in the Brighton game and he did none of those things. He stayed central and up top all game, thereby playing right into Brighton’s big centre halves hands. He blocked up the middle and consequently we couldn’t find space in that game. Result - no goals for him and a stuttering team performance.

Let’s hope he continues to produce Burnley not Brighton performances and scores another well deserved hat trick on Boxing Day .

The amazing thing about Kane is that he came to the half way line and lofted the ball for Davies to run onto, but Davies wasn't fast/ strong/ brave/ awesome enough to get there, so Burnley got the ball... so Kane steamed into them and got it back... but the other Spurs players didn't fancy scoring so Kane got it back and scored. For a hat-trick. That is Roy of the Rovers stuff.

Pretty soon he'll be playing in goal, roll it out, win it back, pass it, win it back, dribble it, pass, win it back, score a hat-trick.... just getting silly now.

I think I know what he means. Kane is a solid 7/10 in everything, but doesnt seem to have any outstanding quality.

He isnt that guy where you go "He is faster than anyone" "his dribbling is the best in the world" "he is the ultimate in the air"...

He is just solid in all attributes, its almost like he shouldnt be as good as he is.

But - to contradict myself - I do believe he has 2 outstanding qualities.

1) He has no ego. He is humble. It means that...
2) He works HARD. He will do the basics. He will do the dirty work. He will not rest on his laurels. Which means he is continually improving. And even if its by 1% here and there, it adds up.

The poster said Kane has no technique which is nothing like what you’re saying....

I read it as the usual binary talk and inferred what I posted. I think I know what he was trying to say.

If course, I could be completely wrong. Im sure he'll be around to confirm or otherwise soon enough...
