We have to play Thursday - Saturday when we play Chelsea.

The Metropolitan Police blocked our request to the Premier League to move our game at Chelsea to the Sunday.

UEFA rejected our request to move our qualifier game to the Wednesday.

By us you mean Toon right? Phew, for a minute I thought that was important ;)

Clearly not fair on you guys, I would expect the police have some reasoning about not having you (or more specifically Chelsea, or more specifically still, the Chelsea hooligan fan base) in London on the Sunday. But UEFA will want to pin you down for Thursday so they can see the TV rights to some regional cable TV station, throw the toys out of the pram when Pardew plays the kids. And they wonder why no-one values the Europa????

Ah well, on the bright side if you have to fly to some obscure outpost for the Thursday night it probably means a number of the Toon fans be best off going from London anyway.

Same happened to us about 5 years ago. Had to play Seville away on Thursday night, then Chelsea at home at 12.45pm!!
