It is supposed to mean that we have a home game last weekend of the season.

Palace away, one of the worst fixtures we could expect. We wouldn't get Arsenal or Chelsea, and I think we all would have taken Man U/Man C/Everton/Liverpool early doors if we could for various reasons (new manager or no goofy Uruguayans). The opening day for these promoted sides is a bit like the third round of the cup, they put their energy into one big upset for the season. Palace will finish bottom with less than 20 points, but 3 of their points will be gained on the opening day of the season :(

However, being away isn't a bad thing for THFC these days, WHL was a bit of a pressure for the players at the end of this season.

Have to say, I think Man U have been well and truly stitched up.
Away for first and last fixtures.

That would equate to a THFC start of:

Looking at our "big matches" then:

Aug - Arsenal (A)
Sept - Chelsea (H)
October - West Ham (H)
November - Everton (A)
November - Emirates Marketing Project (A)
November - Man U (H)
Dec - Liverpool (H)
Jan - Man U (A)
Jan - Emirates Marketing Project (H)
Feb - Everton (H)
March - Chelsea (A)
March - Arsenal (H)
March - Liverpool (A)
May - West Ham (A)

Can't see many positives or negatives in that to be honest, a decent spread. Pair up each game and its more or less one home, one away.
Happy to be playing City and United around their probable CL ties in November, not so optimistic about playing them in January. Don't fancy Liverpool away late on in the season either. Arsenal early is good IF we have a largely settled squad. If we lose Bale/AVB or fail to get in that extra forward then I'm sticking the mortgage on 2-5 :(

Chelsea at home in September is gonna be good, I really think AVB will serve up some revenge at last!

One of my earliest memories as a Spurs fan was us losing away to Palace 1-0. I think Atilio Lombardo scored but I could be wrong.

Especially that Chelsea games looks rather likely to be moved.

There is a rule, if you call it a rule. Premier League clubs and the Premier League themselves agreed through mutual agreement that having a derby at the start of the season wouldn't generate as much revenue as possible as the opening day of the season tends to draw in a lot of fans, as does a derby, so by having a derby on the start of the season you miss out on an extra day where you can rack in the cash. I remember hearing a guy on Sky Sports who works for the Premier League talking about it once.

Decent fixture list, depnding on the result of the North London derby. Going to give a quick opportunity for one team to establish an advantage over the other and it's going to benefit which ever team gets it pshcyologically for the rest of the season. COME ON YOU SPURS!

I'm pleased with the fixture list, a reasonable start to the season, tough November, but Christmas looks OK, most big games are spread out and an easy run in. It's the friendliest fixture list in years, let's hope we take advantage.
 
Let's just fast forward to where we're hoping for a favour from Norwich on the last day of the season.

If Jol is still in a job in April I fully expect Fulham to ruin our season. Again.
