Danny Rose

not sure about the red card thing .

have you seen some of the tackles that he puts in, his positioning is so poor he ends out of position and throws himself at the ball. In a couple of Sunderland games this season he could have been sent off by some refs.

By a couple of games you mean the tackle at Saudi Sportswashing Machine, where he actually won the ball but I could understand the yellow. He's very tenacious.

I am beginning to think you are related to him, his tackling is brick.

I once had Ruel Fox on the back of my shirt.

I had Dean Austin on my back...not once, not twice but three times.

On Rose, he'd be no worse than Ekotto. Ekotto is always on the edge of a mistake and very ordinary left back. I don't understand the love but I suppose he is a very interesting personality and a bit eccentric.

Rose might not be Baines but he isn't any worse than what we have.

I think you are generalizing a bit, Benny may not be a world class FB, but he is not a "very ordinary LB" by any means.

Being a FB for Spurs is a tough ask, you are expected to support the two main attack outlets with Bale/Lennon and will quite often be left exposed. Benny was part of a successful back line that helped deliver some of the best Spurs results in a long time. I do agree he is always 30 seconds away from a red mist moment.

Rose may have potential, but we saw when he covered for Benny for us, and it was not a like for like replacement.

I watched a few Sunderland games this season (all on TV). Rose has improved his defensive skills and awareness. However, I don't think that his first touch (and touches in general) are good enough for a "modern" left-back in a top 6 team. He is still young and I hope that can improve in that department.

He has a terrible touch, he is a bit of a donkey, very sad to see him instead of Benny.
