Daniel Levy - Chairman

Afford something? We're the 3rd or 4th biggest spenders since we moved into the stadium and that's what it was for.
I think the point is that the money spent by Levy is not to buy quality players out even dare to go out and compete in the market. Instead we buy lots of players and if they fail then so be it.

That passing of money spent makes me laugh. When was the last genuinely great player that we signed and you couldn’t believe it?

Could you give an example of the type of transfer you are talking about here? Not just for us but other PL clubs - I'm not sure these sorts of big deals really come about too often tbh

Yet again the tinkle poor performance and another semi final where the players didn’t turn up and the fans blame Levy. It was tactical last night nothing more and nothing less. The players were shocking, couldn’t pass a ball 5 yards and played stupid passes time and time again. If that was anyone else in the league that played Liverpool last night it would have been much tougher than that for them.

For context… when did city last sign a Super star
Haaland?
Gvardiol?
The most proven player they have signed in recent years is Kovatic

Depends what you mean by quality players. Solanke is quality, plenty of similar examples like that.

If you expect us to attract the really elite players you're living in dreamland. The only way we get that type of player is to buy them when they are young and haven't reached their full potential. Gray and Bergvall are already proving they will be top players and have already made big contributions to the team. Even the club signing Spence is proving to be a great signing only we had managers to stubborn to use him because he was a club signing.

I don’t think those elite players really exist anymore
In the market at least
There is a void now
If I was to say who the best CB in the world woe would say VVD.. some may say someone else but it’s slim pickings because either the eke k has dropped or the standard has been raised (hard to tell)
Striker wise you have Kane, Haaland, Salah, the lads at Madrid … Chris Wood
Midfield…. Rodri then who?

There are too many to list if I am honest.

A ready made coveted player that has proved himself in this league or abroad.

The last one we had at Spurs as an example was Klinsmann.

I’m dreaming for elite players joining spurs … of course. When you say we are in the top end of spending money then why are we not in for the top end of players. One mention of Solanke does not back up your point whatsoever.

We seem to target players that are either a punt, young with potential or slightly above average players.

Solanke is an above average not amazing but decent. We have some of the highest ticket prices around the world, have the highest revenues, spend money but still too poor to buy some great players?

This whole guise of spurs spending serious money is embarrassing as you can see the quality of player that we buy.

But you won’t name them ?
Liverpool are top of the league without buying anyone
Their last signings were not elite players
They have signed Chiesa who is fighting Richy for the most melted player in the league
Last year they signed…
Gravenbach who has flopped at Bayern (they now play him differently and he is arguably their key player)
Mac Allister who had one very solid season at Brighton and had just got recalled in the Argentina team
Endo - nothing to say really
And the kicker for this season, Szoboslai. He is class in the right set up.
What I would say is I believe none of these pakyers had won anything of note at club level as far as im aware and I’d say we’re “gambles or punts” to use the language our fans like.
3 of them are the mainstay of their midfield this season
The key is they are all available pretty much every game and suit the system now they are fully onboard
I’d also say they have the legs to play this level week in, week out.

Great players go to the top clubs, we've no chance of attracting them until we are back amongst the top 4.
We're going after the top young talent which is the only we'll build a team of top players that can compete.

As for the prices, it's simple, if you think it's not value then spend your money elsewhere.

There aren’t that many great players anymore
