Can definitely see him at Atletico and they pay good money, they're surprisingly high up on the footballing food chain iirc.

I don't know why anyone is surprised by that clip of his mistake. He does this all the time, trying to draw players in to press him so he can pass around them. Usually it works out, but he's been making a lot of high-profile mistakes lately regarding this. Now, I suspect more players will try to press him if he has the ball.
Clearly it’s the managers request and nothing to do with the player
So bad.Just saw this on twitter …. Wow
It is true, a few midfielders momentarily switch off in that exact moment that Romero gets closed down. He still has the keeper and the other CB as options though, although we all know Romero tries to beat the press by going forwards. Huge brainfart though for such a high-profile player.Worth watching the other Argentina players. Complete lack of options. Made me wonder whether it was high temperature / humidity where they were playing?
Not defending him though. He shouldn't be making mistakes like that.
And clearly not because of an Ange instructionSo bad.
And clearly not because of an Ange instruction
He has some elite characteristics as a player
His passing is the best of any CB
But he he also has flaws as we have seen
He is far from crap
He doesn’t appear to want to remain here
He needs his agent to find a club who will pay us an acceptable fee. I think clubs will look at his age and fitness history and make some judgements and that’s gonna be a dent on his expectations
I recall some excellent passing that created some incredible chances....for Bournemouth. It always looks bad when it goes wrong but to give away such nailed on chances out of situations where there's so little to gain, it's not ideal.
Tbh despite his flaws he would probably be a beast for atletico, Simeone will adore Romero's antics. And he would actually get protection from in front so would probably look incredible again.
Whilst I don't see him in training I still want to see a couple of trial shifts in DM, I cannot imagine the game drifting him by like it does with Biss and Bents on their iffy days...
Many think what they don’t always sayBut who said it was?
He and never been mentioned by any manager as player thereYep, it's a shame we've never had a full quota of fit centre halves so Ange could afford to have Romero in holding midfield. So many of us have pondered about him in that position over these last 3-4 years.
But who said it was?
It’s rarely the players making basic errorsApparently most of the individual defensive mistakes made are because of what he 'tells the them to do'...

Fatigue will also play a part and I think Romero may be suffering from that because of the volume of games he has watched on television
I worry how no matter who the manager is top drawer players forget how to make basic passes and it’s the tactics …Respectfully, there is a fantastic balance in the fan opinion between Ange's tactics and the players individual execution. There doesn't have to be a single root cause on these things but there's no smoke without fire in both areas.
Rather than player's poor performances, I'm more worried about the talented ones that may get loose in the saddle because of where the club finds themselves. Managing the Romero situation is one thing. If another 4 or 5 of our best want out, that's not good.
