I like Ole's type of enthusiasm and his love of the club over the Mourinho negative cynicism all day long. Yes all the Man U. hype we are going to hear for the next month or so is nauseating but at least it's better IMO than watching a doped team like City and the serial failer PSG.

I don’t know many Man U fans and their recent success was palatable when it came at the expense of Liverpool Goons and Chelsea. Their decline at the expense of City was fine too, especially as our improvements meant their strategy of buying and unsettling our best players had to stop.

I’m worried about what I’ve wished for now though, even if he’s and a bit of luck Solskjær has already proved what a terrible mismanagement of resources Mourinho was presiding over. I wanted them to improve enough to come 4th over Goons and Chelsea and lose interest in Poch but we really don’t need them to become competitive enough to be battling with us!

I also have a sinking feeling they might now be Toby’s choice if / when he doesn’t sign a new deal.

Whilst I agree in the sporting principal United fans banged on about tradition and values and then chucked it always the second CL came under threat. They’ve lucked out with Solskjær who’s come in under no pressure and been a call back to the Fergie era but I have no doubt he would never have been in contention if they’d had the time to appoint a higher profile successor.

Yeah, I get all that. But Toby will do what he wants, I wouldn't stress it too much. Man U will rooster it up they are serial offenders. Ole's has been benefited hugely from the Mourinho bounce it is untrue, that will wear off in the summer.

We want them to do fairly well so they don't go for a Poch or a Tuchel.

What if the Ole love in is so high that they back him and add some proper defenders. Then they could transform into contenders again like Liverpool did.

They will mega spend whoever is at the helm. That in its self can cause problems as we have seen.
"Ole love! will only take you so far. They need a plan. That goes beyond their purchasing power.

I don't see Ole love doing that.
 
Ole must get the job now. He can't really have done more and any appointment carries some risk. Not picking him would upset the fans and spoil the feel-good factor around OT. The senior Glazer kid was also in attendance so I can see Woodward making any other choice. If it doesn't work out they can rinse and repeat.

It's also worth noting that Ole will have Ferguson's blessing. Since Ole has come in Ferguson has been much closer, even in the dressing room yesterday. Years ago (15 plus?) Fergie was asked which of his players would make the best manager and Ole was his choice.

Another factor is it could be the cheap option. Ole has shown he can get results from the squad he has and is willing to blood youth. He won't require a transfer budget to overhaul the squad, which a high profile manager would demand.
 
He's had some amazing luck, but in the end, results do matter and Ole has got plenty of good ones, not all of them lucky either. He deserves a go.

Though sadly, I think they will buy Toby and be at the front of the queue for Wan Bissaka (unless Wilf puts him off a move to Utd).

Get them two and a top quality centre-midfielder to replace Matic or Herrera in the team and they will be looking strong again. And we all know they have the money.

It's getting to the point where they have to hire him or risk a backlash. There's absolutely no way they'll keep winning as much as they've done, but he should be able to finish this season looking pretty good.
