I reckon 7 out of 10 15-year-olds wouldn't be able to tell you who won it last season. And a decade it would have only maybe been say 3 out of 10. Since it went off mainstream tv, it's profile amongst fair-weather fans has definitely fallen a lot.

Also streaming mean lots of series fans now watch all their own team's games, but virtually none of other teams.

It hasn’t been on mainstream TV for decades, and that was only the case in the UK anyway.

I reckon most people could tell who won it last year, if not only because most people would guess Real Madrid, as they always win it.

Things like that can be circular though. Look how far the CL has fallen prestige wise in the past decade.

As a youngster I only knew about it because of the United plane crash and then for many years I'd never heard of most of the teams in it or know where they played, i still have never heard of many teams in European competitions now, I watch avidly to see if one of the teams I ever played for appears.

Anyone watch a YouTube channel called I think Dr sports?
Fans/creators of Liverpool, arsenal, utd, Chelsea and spurs talk about the games and other issues.
I catch it now and again.
The spurs supporter is a woman, abbi something (insert young frankenstein joke here) always seemed quite rational but now is banging on about the protests.
Fine if that's your view fair enough.
Then she gets into it with the utd fan, and I paraphrase, but she'd rather be in utds position with five trophies and the glazers than ours with levy.
