Phew. Now he's tied down until July 2020. If the new stadium construction goes according to plan, he'll have about a year playing in it (2018/2019) before his contract enters its final year - my guess is that it's a four-year deal (relatively unusual for us) because he either wants to see if there's instability after the stadium move or feels he can get more money on a subsequent deal/leverage for a move elsewhere once we're in the stadium and generating dosh. I expect Lamela will also have such considerations on his mind (or on the mind of his agent). Verts might be different because he's coming up to his final large, increasingly lucrative contract in any case given his age. Either way, good move, and good news. :) We can't lose him yet.
 
Good news indeed. Very important that our key players are seen to be happy to commit.
And Eriksen is most definitely one of our key players. Great news for the team.
 
Good stuff, hopefully it puts him in a better frame of mind and he can regain his form. With Dembele coming back and the new boys playing a part, I'm sure we'll get more fluency in our play and then Harry will start banging goals in again.

Great news for us. I'm sure he'll get a little bump in those wages if he progresses as we all know he can.
 
An addition to Steff's point that the good news of the summer is that Levy is fully behind Poch. For once Levy has full confidence in the opinions of the manager.

The best results in the PL have come from situations where a good manager was supported by a business type with some knowledge of football or knowledge of his limitations so that a good relationship with the manager could be established: Ferguson and Kenyon/Gill, Wenger and Dein. I exclude the sugar-daddy model as that is brute force rather than efficient utilisation of resources.

Levy has been learning. He made a lot of mistakes early in his tenure, but now he seems to have raised the football side of his knowledge to the level of his financial stewardship. This doesn't mean he is an expert in football, it means he knows enough to get the best out of a manager he trusts and to help him.

I'm going to risk the ire of some here, including a few like @parklane1 and THFCSteff whose opinions I respect and usually agree with. Mr. Eriksen has a long way to go for me to be considered as a top player. He is a bottler when it comes to a 50/50 ball, hasn't scored with a free kick since The Beatles were top of the hit parade, doesn't tackle back and has failed to find form this season. When he is in form he can be sublime, his assists for Dele at Stoke last year were magnificent, as was the way he took his goal away at Emirates Marketing Project. Consistency is his key now, he must find consistency. If he does he has huge potential. I truly hope that he realises it.
