Champions League 22/23 - Round of 16: AC Milan

Yea this is where I am with it as well.

long old time till Feb though and a transfer window in between so we could be a different proposition by then, but as of now it’s unlikely we’d beat many of the teams still in it.

I think we'll be in a much stronger position come February personally. Not league position obviously, but the quality of play and general feel around the place as a result of that.

Bring on anyone I say. We're far from the best team in this thing, but on our day we'll cause anyone a real headache and as we've seen in the past it's a cup competition and anything can happen.

Conte's record in the CL is poor, but we're not in a league title fight. Get some belief into this group and Conte's football should be very well suited to CL knockout football.

Not sure if I've missed it elsewhere on the site, but am surprised nobody mentioned that we've made roughly EUR64m = £56m from the CL so far according to massive Gooner SwissRamble.
Whereas the Popguns have made about £25m and a Twix.
That is enormous for Spurs, enables us to keep pushing forwards and spending on players, now the stadium is sorted.
It can be a huge swing, if the boot was on the other foot and they had earned £30m more than us, that is a £60m swing. That's a lot of free transfers.
Hojbjerg's goal was worth about £10m alone, in one second.

Also our coefficient keeps creeping up all the time we do well.

It’s a cup competition from here on, I don’t buy this anything else is a bonus bull. We’re in it to win it.
Indeed. Otherwise, what's the point? We definitely weren't one of the best teams in Europe when we made it to the final, and both Chelsea and Liverpool have won it while being well outside the dozen or so best teams.

But I'm not going to get all depressed if we don't make it to the quarter finals.

Exactly this and means we are working our way towards being best placed wildcard team in a future season IF we do not qualify that season. Plus the stadium sponsorship, the higher profile of the club, so many boosts for the club as a whole. Now let’s get to the quarter finals and increase those boosts still further.

Delighted to see someone using the word "Popguns", a royalty-free phrase I invented. Along with Tinsel Vincibles. And Bundesliga Bonestroker.

Our swollen UEFA club co-efficient is becoming pornographic.

Nothing will be easy here on in, but hopefully would not like to be drawn against PSG obviously (leave them to Madrid, again) Brugges possibly the easiest draw, or Dortmund or then either of the Milan clubs.

Have an Italian mate who is a massive AC Milan fan and takes every opportunity to give me stick. We'd better beat them or I'll have to fudge my phone in the river.

That's a great draw.

Was in Milan end of August watching them. Way really disappointed at the quality of football.
