I'm never keen on signing a player who's taking a step down to join us as I see it as a lack of ambition.
Could sitting out ones contract without hope of playing be taking a step down as well? That's what Bale would be doing at RM so a move might make sense for him.
Exactly would be a stupid signing on our part. Invest in younger players with that sort of money. Could never see Levy or Poch thinking this would be a good option.
