I am still firmly in. Wish Ange and the team Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
You are of course entitled to your opinion, but every stat has proved his first 18 months to be an absolute disasterI am still firmly in. Wish Ange and the team Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
Absolutely disaster is a description and subjective. It's not been proven. It's not backed by stats. You can say that being below a certain league position, points per game or whatever is an absolute disaster, but that then still is subjective as to where one puts the threshold between disaster and absolute disaster. You are of course entitled to your opinion, but every stat has proved his first 18 months to be an absolute disaster
He has already been given similar resources to what Arteta had in his first 2 transfer windows.Arteta is FIVE YEARS into his job. It took him THREE to actually make a half-decent tilt at the title. At this stage in his second season, Arteta’s Arsenal were in 13th place with 20 points. Whether Postecoglu is the right man or not nobody knows yet, but what is clear is that if you want to measure him by Arteta, then you have to be consistent in doing so and conclude that right now, he’s doing a BETTER job than Arteta did at that time! Truth is I don’t think he will get anywhere near the time Arteta has had, or the resources.
I think Arteta had signed 23 players at Arsenal before their first CL qualification under him.The way that post reads indicates Ange is a better manager. Arteta is a pragmatic manager who has built an excellent squad who have great belief in the manager. Ange has signed 14 players, and if truth be known they don't believe in his crazy school playground tactics. Believe me, you will turn on him shortly, and I'll remind you of our conversations. Of course, we will win the occasional game, but at present we are losing approximately 50% of them, which is the worst for quite some time. Because he keeps telling us how good he is, doesn't mean you have to believe him!
Well, 5 years in, and it doesn't appear to be working? For a start, as much as I dislike Arteta, you can see he is more pragmatic than Ange. Arteta builds his teams from a solid defence. That seems, based on experience, to be key to winning things in this league.

Well that will keep the fans happy...won't it?It’s working brilliantly imo, they keep qualifying for the CL.

Wenger says hi.
Every stat? Sixth highest wage bill and he finished 5th. What a disaster. Are you on the wind up?You are of course entitled to your opinion, but every stat has proved his first 18 months to be an absolute disaster
I'm gonna try and change my mindset. Not like we won anything the previous 25yrs. So may as well enjoy whatever is dished up, while knowing until Levy jogs on, certain things may well stay the same.
Long may that continueWell, 5 years in, and it doesn't appear to be working?
Than what they look like finishing a place lower and all because no one can beat the city machine….Well that will keep the fans happy...won't it?
Wenger says hi.
Lots to think about in there. Cheers
Thing is, what is the going rate for entertainment? My season ticket, travel etc ain't cheap. If I just want to see goals and 'entertainment' I can go watch football over the park. Tottenham are a professional football team charging top tier prices. For that I expect a professional run outfit. Surely the goal is to win entertainingly rather than be entertaining. Neutrals favourite is a another phrase for not really a threat to honours which Ange himself has said he wants to compete for.
Take the first 10 games out of it, and that's when other managers sussed us out, we would have finished 16th.Every stat? Sixth highest wage bill and he finished 5th. What a disaster. Are you on the wind up?
Really, they are arguably the 2nd/3rd best team in the country, and we are languishing in 11th and dropping like a stone, Would you not swap their team and manager like a shot, I know I wouldWell, 5 years in, and it doesn't appear to be working?
Ah here. There are lots of posters on here who think Ange should be fired who make reasonable arguments. I don't agree necessarily but they make good points and try to make them in a way that makes some sense.Take the first 10 games out of it, and that's when other managers sussed us out, we would have finished 16th.
It would keep me happy.
He is treating Ange as though he is one of the tourists and women that he blames for all things wrong in footballAh here. You're seriously suggesting we take out 10 games where we got 26 points as if we got 0 points, adjust the table accordingly and judge Ange on that. It's a ridiculous argument and you've made a few ridiculous arguments as well as throwing some pretty poor, low-brow insults at him.
