I admire the effort, but the base premise is wrong.

A better analogy, imho, is that we need to change the engines on our plane, whilst it's in the air, so we need to keep it flying and swap bits over one at a time. If we turn them all off at once we are going to plummet to our death.

Thats what he's getting wrong, he's trying to do too much too quickly without the right parts.

Get the best out of what you have, and tweak it as you go.

I can see sense on a lot that and don't think you are far off the mark.
I don't think we have either enough spare parts, proper oem spare parts or patient passengers that will allow those parts to be changed.

Fair point mate. I am usually on the side of giving the manager time when results are not necessarily great but it’s clear progress is being made. But I think Ange has had 18 months to implement his system with a fairly consistent set of players and we do not appear to be going in the right direction. I like the bloke, but don’t think he is the long term option for us. Plus, worryingly for me his tactics appear to be driving the team into the ground with no apparent upside in terms of results.

I honestly can't say that I like him, I do like what he's trying to do, but I just can't warm to him personally.
For me turning us around is a much, much bigger job than fans are willing to admit, and I don't see it from any of the names being suggested.
In fact some of the rods getting used to beat ange with are even bigger for these other coaches.

We will if the results are kept at a decent level.

When you cannot afford a world class squad, you need a coach who is tactically astute. Ange is sadly not, on what we have seen over the last 18 months. Iraola has shown that with inferior players IMHO.

Why is it not an option for to look inward and say, I've done it this way and it's worked but it's not working now so I need to alter it.

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a manager to manage. What he doesn't have to change is his philosophy and I don't want him to but any man who says they are not open to changing and being found wrong in any aspect of their life is a fool.

I also doubt that in his 30 year career that this has been the case.

Important to note that I absolutely see your point, appreciate it, and even occasionally share the same frustrations. What I am saying is that it won't happen for all the reasons I pointed out. As Billy Bob Thornton said in Bad Santa, wish in one hand - brick in the other and see which fills up first!

What about the air hostesses though? And what type of snacks are being served?

He has better players than people realise at Bournemouth hence why we brought a player off them for £65m and he is play8ng once a week
But what I love is they are brave and play with an intensity but also control
They have a very very under rated player there in Lewis cook who nits their midfield together so well

I think most of the goals we're conceding are down to individual mistakes rather than system errors. Further, I think most of the chances we are missing are because of individual mistakes rather than system errors. Overall, our style of play has progressed well, and if our squad was fitter, if we even had -say- a fit Richarlison and a fit Odobert- it makes a big difference.

If you watch the analysis on MOTD2, it does look like we are not well set up defensively Steff. Worse it looks naive at times. Because of this we have to score with every chance (which we are not going to do) to get anything out of the game.

Having so many left wingers and CBS out is madness
We now have a suspension in midfield but that part of the team has stayed relatively unscathed injury wise
It’s also the part he has changed the most players wise

Yet we created the bested chances in the game statistically
And we missed some big ones
They were all over the place when we attacked them as were we
They looked all over the place because one of their players kept slipping and we capitalized well. Once they sorted that out we were not really a threat any more. Whereas they were cutting through us because their midfield was cleverly occupying the pockets between our defence and midfield.

Your forgetting the chances that they showed on MOTD
The Solanke one, the son one, the son run into the box which was a pen if he fell over
We had 6 chances and 4 big ones according to the data and they had 2
I agree with how they tactically lined up. Helps they made 7 changes form Wednesday and that extra day rest again

It's not even being clever anymore. As every team does it against us!!

I doubt that very much with the ref we had

I think Iraola has had a very similar career trajectory to Poch. He also managed in La Liga with Rayo Vallecano which brought him to the attention of Leeds. His teams play a similar pressing style to Poch's teams. Let's face it Iraola has shown he is more capable of consistency with a weaker team than Ange has had at his disposal. Do I think we will win the league under him? Probably not unless we strengthen significantly. I just want to see us challenging again though.

All that said, I don't see the point of getting rid of Ange before the end of the season though, otherwise we are back in caretaker territory. Certainly not while we are still in the cups.

Good points. I’ve been wrestling with the choice of keeping Ange or not (not that it’s actually my choice) and I keep thinking he could cost us a chance to win a trophy with this suicide-ball but I totally get the logic of keeping him until the end of the season.

Individual mistakes yes but it’s mainly the system IMO and the coaching. It’s also why we score so many goals.

Our entire squad is on fumes. I think it is harsh to judge the current situation in any other way personally, but accept people will.
