The facts are we hired Ange and he has told us what he does. He's done it that way for nearly three decades everywhere. Everyone involved in the hire knew this. So anyone expecting him to change suddenly is not paying attention to what he has said from the get-go, and done forever.

You can criticize his methods -look, I wouldn't mind a bit more caution and perhaps a system shift to the squad we have available - but the facts have always been that he will not do that. He's been clear about it. We all knew, and know. So essentially, to keep saying 'he needs to' is a total waste of time.

We either stick with it and give him the rest of this season and next (unless relegation is imminent) or we bin it all off and dance around the bloody maypole like a bunch of morris dancers again!
Why is it not an option for to look inward and say, I've done it this way and it's worked but it's not working now so I need to alter it.

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a manager to manage. What he doesn't have to change is his philosophy and I don't want him to but any man who says they are not open to changing and being found wrong in any aspect of their life is a fool.

I also doubt that in his 30 year career that this has been the case.

Keep him whilst we’re in the Europa league (and league cup) and possibly until the end of the season.

He has to be given the chance to at least try and win a trophy…if we sack him now I don’t see the point of hiring him in the first place.

The last time we fired a manager we were 4th in the table.

Is 11th more palatable because we're often in entertaining games and the manager is eager to cop the blame?

I'm not even necessarily Ange out, maybe we'll wait till a cup final and give Mason another crack at it.

Does Ange get more money and another round of windows and get given grown ups or does he go now?

I don't think he wanted all the teens, I think he wanted Solanke simply cos he gets played. I know he takes all responsibility, but for some reason I feel he is taking one for the team.

Yeah, sacking him now would be madness, even if we're not at a place we'd like to be right now. But it wouldn't hurt to look for options, in an open process (internally). Build for the future, regardless of who's a part of it. Leave the nostalgia for the retired players. But I remain at the stance that it's the coaching setup that needs to be looked into first, some of the things we see at a regular basis you won't even find in the bottom level clubs. Set pieces, passing, marking, defensive responsibilites, movement, coverage, it's mind boggling how low we can perform on those things at times. You cannot even hope for getting the most basic ideas through when you have players who can't pass, or playing a high intensity, high press game when your players don't have the stamina for it.

But he isn’t doing what he did elsewhere, he got results previously, he has changed.

Get the maypole out, my bells are ready.

I think Iraola has had a very similar career trajectory to Poch. He also managed in La Liga with Rayo Vallecano which brought him to the attention of Leeds. His teams play a similar pressing style to Poch's teams. Let's face it Iraola has shown he is more capable of consistency with a weaker team than Ange has had at his disposal. Do I think we will win the league under him? Probably not unless we strengthen significantly. I just want to see us challenging again though.

All that said, I don't see the point of getting rid of Ange before the end of the season though, otherwise we are back in caretaker territory. Certainly not while we are still in the cups.
we won’t win the league under anyone…. As soon as a top 4 finish looks likely the cheque book goes away.

I’ve watched him in the youths. Good on the ball but still WAY off with positioning and strength to play first team football
But IMO thats not worse than playing a CM who has played everywhere but CB there
I liked what I saw of him last year before his injury
I’m convinced he would be a top dm
Great passing range

Interesting how the external view is changing from initial "this is refreshing" love in at the beginning of last season to listening to the commentators today lay in to how naive and unfocused and easy to play through we are.
