Andre Villas-Boas - Head Coach

I find the stuff AVB said about Bill Nick as interesting as anything Harry ever said. Ultimately it's all crap and I just want to see how we go on the pitch.

This. All the quotes are just preening of feathers, trying to attract a mate, 'fans', for the new ****erel that is AVB.
If he starts off the season with a consecutive run of 5 losses, do you really think people will say 'oh, at least he knows our history'? Of course not! Football is a results business and AVB has been brought to the club to achieve good results which lead to success for the club.
If he, however, does extremely well for us, the quotes will be the extra feathers with which he will be decorated.
So let's hope he achieves the latter and then his quotes will mean a lot more to us. AVB will be crowing in his success for the club and reflecting past successes with his own successful modern era.

Wow, we can't even mention our mascot without it being censored? Surely there is a list of permissible words which the swear filter will not mask with asterisks?

I don't think anyone is suggesting that it's gamesmanship.

What we are saying is that his words strangely echo what Harry said when he claimed that, with this group of players, he could have won the title.

In other words, according to Lampard / Harry there are two possible conclusions that could be drawn at the end of the season. If Spurs have a great season............well, Harry said they would - because he left AVB such a great team. If Spurs have a poor season............Harry would have done better.

Lampard's just supporting his uncle.

Yeah I am sure that is part of the reason of his response but he doesn't mention Harry at all, I think he is just saying what everyone else knows. Let's be honest what he said is true and if we don't qualify for CL (or at least come close) it will be a disappointment.

He did mention Harry in the article, I just cut that brick out.

Trusting the wrong person?

The only good thing is that he 'appears' to have learned.

To be fair, that "wrong person" also brought in Berbatov, Modric and Bale - one player sold for a £20 million profit; the other two who, if sold at current valuation, would realise a combined £50 million profit. Or more.

I wasn't finger pointing at specific people, i assume there might have been different scouts to point out the players to the management structure.

But my memory of such details is hazy so i'll not try to go into it..

I have to say I'm actually looking a bit forward to the Europa League this season, seeing as we're going to try to win it. Will be fun, I think. :)

Would be nice to see us really go after a cup, any cup with desire.

This CL place brick has made every cup competition a half assed process for so many teams.
