He is also a fcuking idiot of a bloke

His record at Spurs was ok, given his record after at other clubs, including an absolute shambles of a time at Swindon, I am absolutely fine with thinking he is terrible
He has the best PL points per game record of any Spurs manager since the inception of the Premier League.

He may well be an idiot of a bloke and may well have done poorly at other clubs but don't try to rewrite history in terms of his record at Spurs.

I don't think there was much in it tbh, they were both certainly two of our better players.
It's not the sub I would made, but it's difficult to it made us worse.
Bergval kept on letting Chelsea's midfield players run past him without tracking them. I saw Ange shouting at him a few times for it.

I thought we were the better team from about the 60th minute on yesterday.

He did well at first by simply not being the previous guy, as seen many times through history (most notably Roberto Martinez following Moyes at Everton). At first the players thrive under the new freedom, but over time everything that's been drilled into them disappear as the new guy doesn't actually have a clue and you're left with an absolute mess. Ange's first few months could easily fit into that category.
That's not really the case with Sherwood though. He was fired before he'd had the luxury of getting to the period where we got into the mess and fired having the best PPG record in PL games of any Spurs manager since the PL started. In fact looking at managers who were in place for full seasons only Pochettino managed to do better and did so in two of his five seasons. (Don't want to get back on the subject again of the chairman's folly in sacking him)

Nope. You don’t get to say that. You if I remember correctly are very vocal about Levy stepping back from the football side of things or just stepping back all together.

Well this is what him stepping back from the football side of things looks like.

You have to own that mate. Not try to turn this in to something else to beat Levy with.

It’s just ironic. All the times he wasn’t patient.

So I’ve spent the day processing everything, the performance, Ange’s actions, the discourse and a few points from me:

- Ange ear-cupping antics last night were completely and utterly inexcusable. Thin skinned as has been said, and he is showing himself to be not cut out for this level. And what’s worse, for him, is that he is single-handedly torpedoing any chance of another top level job through his actions. I had sympathy for him through the injury crisis, but now he is toxic. He is absolutely gaslighting everyone with his ‘explanation’, if you can call it that and for me that’s unforgivable. Be accountable and own your actions.

- It comes to why he hasn’t been sacked. I believe it’s genuinely down to optics and the muddled, PR-driven decision making of Levy. He was burnt by the discourse around Mourinho being sacked and clearly doesn’t want to repeat that experience again by firing Ange before they’re out of Europe.

- This is madness. There is such a small chance we go all the way with the current malaise we find ourselves in and allowing this wound to fester is akin to pouring petrol on an already highly combustible and polarised fanbase.

- I think a key priority for the next manager and a question I’d be asking at interview stage is what is your role to play in uniting this fractured fanbase? Ange said again today “I feel like people want me to say something that will somehow change the mood of the fans. I’ve just never done that or felt like that is my role.” You can argue whether that should be a key facet of any manager, but I believe it is absolutely foundational to success.

- Ultimately this is a sorry, sorry mess and I want it to be over. Now. If Ange stays, things will absolutely get more and more toxic, potentially doing irreparable harm to a - largely - potential-rich squad, which will then lead to ANOTHER costly rebuild that this time we can’t afford.

- I really wish this could’ve worked, but it’s time to say goodbye to Ange, for the good of the club in the mid-long term, not for the chasing of what is frankly a pipe dream of a European trophy.

Sad times all round.

You can tell that. I think back to what made, for example, the Jol and Pochettino eras special. They went out of their way to build an affinity with the fans. It felt like everyone in the club was pushing in the same direction. Redknapp was a bit more detached in that you always kind of knew he was here for his own ends but he's an affable likeable guy so it kind of worked. Even AVB. His first season, it did feel very much all for one and one for all. I do feel like there's been an undercurrent with Ange of chip on his shoulder and "im going to show you lot you're wrong and I'm better than you think" right from day one. He's certainly been a divisive figure particularly this season and that's never going to work in a sporting environment

I found it interesting that he did not protect the player in the conference today. I have to believe Bergvall was still working through the illness which kept him out of Swedish squad. Ange did not offer that as an equation. I'd like to have seen Sarr, Maddison and Bergvall at that time personally.

VDV isn't a particularly good defender IMO. Just has pace that gets him out of trouble sometimes.

Hopefully he will continue adjusting himself so as speed is less a factor in his game than defensive work. I feel I am already watching him adjust his running style (that could be confirmation bias built around the knowledge he has said he would be doing that)...

I’d like to see Maddison washing the kit
He would then maybe have to use a machine on the right as well as the left
He is so fudging frustrating and worryingly so predictable
