I am still firmly Ange in. I don't know how a loss to Chelsea (1-0 at a ground where we have not won) will change that view. I have seen seasons where managers have a bad run. Next year if it continues then I can change my mind. For now, I am very fine with him.

You're fine with 16 defeats this season out of 30 league games?

You're fine with 28 defeats out of 68 league games in total in his tenure?

Any fan singing "you don't know what you're doing" at their own manager at 1-0 down is a clam. I'd sooner have those tossers out of my club than Ange.

I've never felt as out of touch with Spurs fans as I do now. Not the club or the team. Spurs fans. Absolutely pathetic.
You are not the only one. I am in the same boat. I miss the fan base before we started making Europe again.

Exactly. Prematurely got rid of previous managers who had a lot more credit in the bank. The one time he sticks with a manager is with Ange 😂

Nope. You don’t get to say that. You if I remember correctly are very vocal about Levy stepping back from the football side of things or just stepping back all together.

Well this is what him stepping back from the football side of things looks like.

You have to own that mate. Not try to turn this in to something else to beat Levy with.

What if he instead had said "those who Levy has employed to run the football side of things have shown baffling levels of stupidity in hanging on to Ange up until now?"

levy was so quick to get rid of proven managers, what's taking him so long with ange? does he think ange will help us win europa with the football we are playing?

another point to support the idea that levy isn't a football man

It’s all about what is best when it comes to shunting blame onto someone who isn’t Levy.

That and what the chairman (mistakenly - again) perceives to be cheapest.

I can't believe you guys are actually mystified why Levy likes Ange.
Ange is the first manager I can remember that goes out to bat in pressers for Levy and the club's policy.
Conte, Mourinho, Poch, Sherwood even AVB all complained about transfers and what they had to work with.

We went the whole way through January without signing a centre half until the end and Ange didn't say a word about it publicly

Definitely one of the main reasons he was hired. Hard to do anything other than toe the party line when you’re being given a once in a lifetime opportunity to operate at a level quite an way above anything you’ve experienced before.

Fair enough. What are you seeing from Ange's time coaching with us so far that makes you think he's worth keeping beyond this season?
I am a glutton for punishment. Nah, lol. I see some improvement and I feel that with tweaks, right players - his system can be a success. I have hope that that will happen. If there is no change next year then I am fine with him moving on.

What what i can see oif your own posts, you want Ange sacked and can't beleive he's lasted this long. From that, can i assume you are a member of the fan base that's 'entitled'?
No not at all, entitled fans think we should be winning things not taking into account the teams around us. I just want a manager who knows what he is doing.

The bloke is the chairman. Nothing happens - or doesn’t happen - without his say so. Witness him getting on a plane to try to get the Tel signing over the line as a recent example.

Who will sack Munn if it’s perceived he’s not performing at the right level? Answer: the person who is ultimately in control of every aspect of the running of the club, football and otherwise.

Before the game I said that I hoped we would see defensive organisation, but yet again the opposition score what looks like a free header in our box. Our centre backs never seem to know who to mark or how to mark.

I agree in the sense that I can’t see how a 1-0 loss away to Chelsea is being held up as the final straw by some people. I don’t share your optimism though, we’re heading for 17th this season and there is zero chance Ange will be here in August.

I guess we all see things differently but I'm seeing something else entirely.

Watch the 3 goals from the last two games. The defending is horrific. The organisation isn't there, the application isn't there. Fulham, you had 3 lads around their scorer for the first goal and they watched him. Second goal, you had neither Spence or Gray getting back around to help Davies who made a mess he couldn't get out of. And that came from a long straight ball over the top.

Last night, Spence lost the ball and strolled. He made no effort to recover the mistake. Romero and VdV were ball watching. All the while, you could throw a blanket over our 3 midfielders who watched Palmer cross the ball. Then you had the long ball over the top in the first minute that we were lucky to get away with.

Rank bad defending. Rank bad organisation.

From an attacking perspective, compare our football now to the early days under Ange when every first touch was positive and players looked forward first for a pass. That led to risky but incisive football. That's gone. I think Villa at home was probably the last time I saw signs of it.

For me, there are no signs of hope or progress. This is a manager in his last days. I'm not even sure he believes any more but I'm fairly certain the players don't. The result in itself wasn't a disaster. Nor was the Fulham one. But if I watch what's happening in front of me, this is only going one way.

The reason that Ange hasn't been sacked is simple: the Board got feedback that the Tottenham manager's job was no longer seen as desirable, given that managers of the calibre of Mourinho and Conte were judged to have failed and were fired. The Board are trying to do what they can to support the manager so that we aren't seen as a "hire them/fire them" club, and Ange is the beneficiary of this new policy. Not sure it will get him a 3rd season though!!
