( . Y . ) Tottenham v Chelsea | OMT ( . Y . )

Think thats a pretty decent assessment. Only challenges are that I thought Davies looked quite useful today and I'm struggling to think of any team in the league which has a better back-up left back than him.

On your final 5 words, agreed - in the final third. The main attacking weakness which I thought we had last year was someone in an attacking position with either real pace or skill to beat a man in a square foot - I'm really hoping that we can address that in the remainder of the window. We need better options off the bench

Son?

for some reason Son always seemed to be central when he came on yesterday

Told by the manager to get up with Kane I presume. I prefer him off the left. My message was merely to point out that we do have a pacey direct player, he just doesn't seem to command a first 11 place - and I don't think we could get anyone in better than him either. So it's a tactical thing that we go with Dier over Son, not that we don't have the armoury.

I guess we were concerned their MF would be a bit stronger, it's easy to say in hindsight but Wanyama, Dier and Dembele was overkill, whilst Wanyama was poor on the ball he was still a presence in there.

Son maybe isn't fully fit yet either.

I'm not going to add to the ridiculous negativity in here after an undeserved loss. What I DO want to say is that at times the atmosphere sounded fantastic through the telly! Last 10 minutes of the first half it was fantastic, and after we scored it was simply incredible! Most of the time it was difficult to hear the commentators because of the noise from the crowd. Usually it's the other way around. If the crowd and the team continues to perform like that, we'll win most of the games. Of that I have no doubt about!

I think we may get hit on the break a lot at home this season. 500+ square metres extra is not insignificant when you're trying to defend a 2 on 2, or 3 on 3 situation.

It should also be an advantage when you are probing on the edge of an opponents box but that doesn't appear to have worked out just yet. That's Poch's job to work out.

Bizarre really when you think that Alli is more effective off the shoulder of the CB also. Those are the small decisions by managers that can be crucial.
I felt he got a fair bit wrong yesterday, Vic was so off the pace and should have been hooked on 60 minutes, trouble is Dier wasn't exactly pulling up tree's either and had been booked

So angry.

We are so mentally weak against them.

David Luiz is a clam but the difference in mental strength between him and Wanyama was the difference in the sides.

We can play all the football we like but if we don't believe we will win there is frankly no point.

A 'weakened' Chelsea side looked so in control and they beat us and hardly broke a sweat.

As for the plucky loser rubbish.

I can think of many substitutes for the word 'plucky'!

I'm ticking this morning due to the naive display of my team yesterday. The real kick in the teeth is I just knew it would happen.

Full praise must go to Conte, great leader.

Took me a long time to get over yesterdays disappointment (clearly still not over it). But in retrospect, Kane and Dembele in particular put in huge shifts. Kane has an incredible attitude. Yes it didn't quite come off for him, but he gave his all.
And for the first time I look on that pitch and see a player more disappointed than I am that we lost. In fact he is probably beating himself up about it.

We will be ok. These top games are decided by fine margins, it was important not to lose it once we got level, but there we are, mistakes were made. Important to learn and come back strong.

Think Davinson Sanchez addition with his pace gives us greater flexibility to push further forward knowing we have his pace to cover. Trippier for me is a big problem. Not committing his man and giving us a real right flank and not having the same athleticism as Kyle Walker will hurt us in the long run. Against 90% of PL opposition he will probably be ok, but the top sides will expose us there. Him not being able to get around the back of his guy means things get very congested in the middle as we continue to come back in. We will figure this out, just annoying we lost to them lot again.

I actually think Trippier and wanyama showed that they weren't 100% fit IMO

I thought we did so much right yesterday but lacked the final 5%

The fact that we conceded from every shot on target says a few things.... were limiting teams to very few chances but teams have to be clinical to beat us

We dealt with the space well imo but didn't take the chances we had (like they did) and were set up quite cautious too

Not sure. This is not me Trippier bashing at all. He is technically a good player. But from what Pochettino needs from his fullbacks, I'm not convinced he has the raw attributes. Pace and power. Allows us to push high up the pitch and still have the legs to recover. Walker was a freak tbh, but there are players out there with a similar profile which are attainable. I don't want to stifle Walker-Peters but I'm not sure its wise going into a season with Trippier and Walker Peters as our only right backs. I think KWP may have been the better bet yesterday but there is obviously the chance he will make some mistakes at this early stage of his career.

I don't think Poch got a lot right yesterday to be honest.

Have to agree with this. Wanyama, Trippier and Son clearly not 100% fit. Compare with ? Bakyoko whose first game back from injury didn't show at all. We clearly missed pace with our full backs as Jenas pointed out on MoTD. I now think we do need another pacy right back and should definitely buy Sessegnon from Fulham.

We also desperately need a pacy and tricky wide player. We really didn't make enough use of the space out wide.

Poch's subs were poor and badly timed (as usual) and to leave Wanyama on was plainly rediculous, especially as it appeared to me he asked him to play in the middle of the back three for the closing period.

And don't get me started on corners...............
