An interesting comment. Who woud you say is like Eriksen in world football?
There are not many as good, needless to say, but style wise who plays like him?
De Bruyne
That’s it

Given how abysmal the bottom 6 were in the EPL were last season if he had anything meaningful about him then Stoke shouldn't have gone down.
They're looking to improve their stock. Is this an example of the "high calibre" talent they are after

......he's fat he's round his arse is on the ground Shaqiriiiiii...
(....from the classic Sammy Lee chant of the 80's)
He will be a very good signing for them, 12m is a steal....TO be fair with the talent they have his role of just influencing the game around the box rather than running around make him a good signing for them.

It was in some ways, but his stock was quite low after a pretty unproductive period at Bayern so a lower level top flight club might of been the best he could hope for. Then if he proved himself he could get a bigger move again which looks like he could be doing....Yeh I agree, Stoke was such a strange move for him in my opinion

Lets be fair, you dont know whether anyone has shown the slightest interest in him since 2015.Hes been at Stoke since the 15/16 season and nobody has shown the slightest interest.
Now he is available on the cheap, thats the only reason people are looking.
I guarantee Liverpool dont see him as a starter, more like an option to come off the bench and maybe get a worldy.
Interest from a top club, I agree - I thought you was talking about interest from anyone at all. Tbh I dont think its much of a punt, as to me a punt is an opportunistic risk being taken - At 12m I dont think theres any downside as like you say its throwaway money and I think you know what you're going to get from him and Liverpool have determined that at £12m that represents decent value....Of course we know.
Stoke arent a club able to fend of genuine interest from the big boys.
And even if they ever did, you can guarantee Hughes would be all over SSN bigging himself up about it like he does with everything.
Just as, given Shaqiris own ego, he would have tried to force a move to someone like Liverpool were it ever possible.
Id say its a very safe bet nobody showed any interest.
Because, despite scoring the occasional outrageous goal, he really isnt all that.
Now? He's a punt. Like when we spent £5m on Alli. £12m today is throwaway money, no harm no foul. Either he is useful or they write him off.
