Xavi Simons

Highly promising. I know not to jump at this update as though it is done, but this doesn't get reported to the current level without some proper intent behind it. Much more than mere rumour or media narrative creation to this

Seems close. Worst time.

Also, that fee sounds pleasantly on the low side.
Money left over to fund a final bid for Savio, whose convinced to push for a move now one of his friends is joining us...?

What I hope is that we have learned from the window and are using our knowledge of Chelsea's personal agreement to make sure we secure the player.

Simons bid accepted according to Romano

This is where it is all on the player. With the Eze thing it took a week for the clubs to agree. We've done that bit now, so it comes down to the player...cannot help feeling the Paratici waffle would be so helpful here...

[LutonSpurs]

He seems pretty sure the bid was accepted with the players blessing. I'm pretty certain this is gonna be announced before the game later today.

I will say I think Xavi should be quite a Frank type player. He feels uncomplicated and unflashy, still technically skilled but with excellent execution and decision making. Can see it being a strong fit for the manager.

Feel like the player is not in the background simping for another club after being 3rd choice either.

Which speeds it up

Yup, he was our first pursuit of the summer apparently before MGW, so Frank clearly was onboard early...I've said myself several times re: Eze that I love the player and wanted him, and that he was not the best overall fit for all Frank likes...

Does he work hard? Genuine question.

Still don't believe it. Chelsea will nip in.

agree it only takes a phone call from Chelsea & it's all over. i hope we are both wrong

I get all of their recent success. I’m just not convinced that going forward we need to accept the prestige argument as a reason we would lose out to them.

We have a bigger stadium. We have a big history and huge fan base. I’m not convinced that prestige would / should be the reason we would lose a player to Chelsea. Lower wages offered, less chance of immediate trophies, I can understand those arguments. But we have it in our control to impact those variables too. And I’m not convinced prestige on its own should be a reason.

Yes and also everyone knows Chelski are a bunch of cheating corrupt barstewards who go out of thier way to bend and abuse the financial rules.

Pu

Lets hope he had talks at Hotspur way, and was offered to stay there overnight, with tight security and sudden, long lasting internet and telecommunication failure.

Put him in The Cooler.

You have to be mad to go to Chelsea to sit on the bench.

And yet, that is probably what he will do!
