World Cup 2026 - Qualifiers

Get your eyes checked! Robertson literally had his foot planted on the line, and the line is part of the penalty box, so it's clearly inside. Stevie Wonder would see that after half a second. Why they spent all that time on that decision is beyond me.
It was his knee that made contact and it was bent. It's very close either way and wouldn't really blame the ref for calling it either way.

Chapeau to Haiti...an amazing moment for a country in turmoil

...and Curacao...I have no clue who you are....but you're fudging there! :)
The fact that these nations have qualified, tells you everything about the state of this world cup! The world cup is supposed to be about the BEST national teams in the world competing to be THE best, not half the globe with a load of crap teams going on holiday!
Half the teams in Europe that won't qualify, are better than half the teams that will participate. It's become so watered out it's unbelievable!

I think I might have agreed with that opinion once upon a time....BUT the top level of the game is so sanitised, monetised and/or corrupt, and not to mention that club football is not exactly going thru a glamorous phase, Im more minded to celebrate the fact that these wonderous stories are being created for players and supporters that thought the 'BIG' tournament was just an unobtainable dream.

Let them have that experience, and all the magic and joy it brings them and their people.

...but enough about Scotland.

I agree with you both. Dialectics and all that. I've found international football refreshing lately, no doubt mostly due to Norway actually being good for once, but it's been nice to have something removed from the mass hysteria multi billion pound pundit tourist infested shirt sale oil money marketed to hell and back polished sedate gameshow that is the Premier League, I've got to admit. And in the same vein, a cup with these small nations - nice! Even though, for the sake of the quality of the competition, not so much.
