Gallas, Parker and Bentley were some of our highest earners (probably in the £60ks). Bale and Ade (£100k) are our highest earners. Our squad is much trimmer than it has been in a long time - only Gomes now probably falls in the deadwood category

Our wage cap is 54-56% of turnover, so a handful of high earners is fine.

The multitude on NewsNow seem to agree with this. Everyone talking as if it's a done deal. Wow.
 
Rene Meulensteen talking about Willian on SSN. Said he would be an excellent acquisition for whoever signs him. He would be a "trump card" for Spurs but a very different type of player to Bale.
 
Also was reading on the Guardian he went to Shakhtar very young and Lucescu trained him as a nineteen year old to be a very head up, intelligent player, a good passer who releases the ball quickly, as that's the Lucescu/Shakhtar way.
 
Lucescu is a very good coach and very humble man to boot.

I love the fact we are signing very good players, I hate the fact I don't watch any football outside of THFC or don't play FM... I know who Messi is :D
 
Get him in. Sandro, Paulinho, and Willian make a nicely balanced Brazilian midfield trio. Sandro as the steely defensive midfielder, Willian as the silky attacking midfielder and Paulinho as a Lampard-esque combination of both. :) He'd provide the creativity that we lacked against Palace, and to top it all off he's got a 'fro.

I wonder which of Lennon, Townsend, Holtby, Sigurdsson or Bale we're looking to sell, though. Willian can play anywhere across attacking midfield, which gives us a surplus of players in that position given that they're all talented enough to demand regular starting spots at clubs around and below us.

Because it's a lot easier for fans of other clubs to deal with if the deal doesn't go through. In fact they would probably find bringing it up again rather hilarious at that point...

For us though we're moving towards a "everything to lose" type situation...
 
He is in a hotel in London and will possibly be having a medical in the next couple of days but it is not "done"
