Whilst times are good...........remember the bad and feel even better

OK...the all new 'f**k it/glass half-full/optimism to the end' thread...

Well it's taken a couple of days (mostly because I've been absolutely slammed with work stuff) but no matter, it's time for an official CHEER THE FUC K UP and BELIEVE thread, complete with reasons. So, being a confirmed optimist, here goes...

I fully believe we will finish in the top 4. Yes, we are wobbling. No doubt about that. And yes, it's going to get squeaky around the old bitty...we all know that! BUT Newcash have to go to Chelsea, Everton and Emirates Marketing Project still; frankly, if they win all three of those then they're in. But they won't. So don't worry. L'Arse have to play Chelski at home; either way, a favor (at this point probably better if they, errrr, win)...and I do believe we will win 3 of our last 5. I genuinely do not see Saudi Sportswashing Machine, Chelski or Arsenal doing that.

Furthermore, I think we will win Sunday. We have been wonky in recent weeks, but I think it will all come right on Sunday.

We have the talent, we can find the balls...

CL & FA Cup in one month's time? We'd be laughing...get ready to giggle loud and long!

Good thread Steff, though I'm personally still struggling with how Arsenal have overtaken us in the league and our recent performances.

However, I stand by what I said in that for the first 5 minutes or so against Norwich we looked very strong and confident. It wasn't until poor Ledley was pressured that our confidence disappeared and Norwich's grew.

I am normally ridiculously over-optimistic but even my belief is starting to waver. However I do think we will win on Sunday.

All I can hear is the crowd at away grounds signing, 10 points clear and you f@*$ it up!

I think it's better to accept and expect 5th place. Anything more is a celebration\o/

Cheers Steff, this place is depressing at the moment....every other thread is about a new manager.

F#ck it, Im over Norwich, and looking forward to a Wembley win over Chelsea to get the players back in the mood.

No worries mate, though I fear I might also be one of those making you feel ill in another thread LOL!!!!!
Here's hoping Harry's got the gonads to help lift the cub over the finish line...

The difference with you Steff is that you justify your stance, and even if I dont agree with you on things all the time, I can see you want whats best for the club.

Some people seem to get angry because they want whats best for them....and thats being able to brag that THEIR team is the best. If it wasnt football, it would be model planes or some other hobby. Pathetic support, which is highlighted by the fact that positive threads rarely get to two pages, but negative ones get to 18 or so.

Anyway, I'll judge this season when its over! COYS

I think we will finish fourth BUT if we fudging do we better have a better summer of transfers otherwise next season wont be as good as this.

Id be happy with 4th and the FA Cup. Hell, id be happy with 4th although ultimately ill be tinkled off not finishing 3rd.

I felt the team Harry picked on Monday was due to the game on Sunday. Football for me is all about winning trophies but I also want Spurs as a team to get stronger and better so I think nowadays in order to improve and retain your players CL is a priority. So I hope we lose on Sunday. We have a large amount of players who are pussies, I can only imagine them away to bolton and villa in May not wanting to get injured for the final, fudge me we would be awful to watch. I don't want anymore distractions diminishing our CL push.

Haha nice try but seen too many of these threads this season, we are Tottenham, dissapointing in spectacular fashion is what we do, i refuse to be optimistic from now on. I dont see a problem with that. Im not the manager! Still cant wait for a cracking game on Sunday 4-3 Chels, Spurs 3-0 up half time, its the Tottenham way!

Steff, your persistance with these kind of threads is admirable and I respect you for that

However, as someone pointed out yesterday - Tottenham don't do happy endings so I've braced for impact already. I hope you're right though

I love the smell of WUM in the morning...

steff is right. it's still ours to lose really. the 2 week break from the league now might be just what we need.

3 wins from the final 5 games is surely gonna be enough. chelsea and Saudi Sportswashing Machine would have to perform miracles with their remaining fixtures to beat that.

blackburn, villa away and fulham you couldn't hand pick 3 more winnable fixtures

things would look suddenly very rosy if we went to loftus road and won. might work in our favour that people will almost be expecting them to win that game now. pressure does funny things.

Optimism does not come easily to a Spurs supporter, I think.;) Nevertheless, we've got a few things to be optimistic about;

We need at least 70 points to guarantee CL qualification. 3 wins and 2 draws. Eminently achievable. Will we do it? Certainly, if certain players get their heads out of their arses.

We're in the FA Cup semi-final, one game away from Wembley proper.

Whatever happens this year, next year will see the return of Caulker and Naughton, which should help ease our defensive cover worries.

Whatever happens this year, I think Levy will spend in the summer to strengthen the squad. Our sale of the deadwood should generate a lot of money as well.

The new stadium's looking closer than ever.

The new training ground's almost completed.

We'll probably end up getting a new manager who could take the club forward.

And....

We have the Soulman.
