Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

I suspect all those present on Wednesday found it an amazing place to be as we won.
Were you there? I can't recall seeing any comment from you about us having beaten the league leaders, whether you saw the game, if you enjoyed it. But I don't actively look for people's posts so may have missed your delight. If so, I have access to an electron microscope to try find it ;)
I do about 6 games a season. It means me driving 2.5 hours to my friends place, then an hour on a train to Seven Sisters, then the walk up the high Rd. I stay over night, then a drive back the next day. The total cost with food a drink is around £200 a game. Being able to afford to do something doesn't mean the price is fair. This is very much a part of the reason atmospheres in most stadiums are now rubbish. We are attracting tourists and middles class families, but the people who make the noise are generally young working class men. I don't do evening games, and I certainly don't do early kick offs.

It was great beating Liverpool, especially as they are my most hated team. I remember meeting so many of their supporters at the CL final, and I'm convinced Scousers are below slugs on the evolutionary scale. However, we have also beaten City twice, Villa, and Man Utd, but that isn't good enough when we lose so many other teams. Our league position and record proves how poor we have been this season, and sorry guys, I put that down to a poor manager. Yes we have had a lot of injuries, but virtually every top pundit and ex footballer will tell you that's down to our style of play and training methods. In fact, I just watched a video with Darren Lewis saying just that.

I'm not sure that even close to be true. I know a couple of dozen people (some closely some by association) and most of them are in massive jobs in the city, brokers, PR, Marketing and are on 6 figure salaries, its how they can afford and get the time off.

Granted you might do a job survey when you are there, but just because someone is in Green Street Cos play does not mean they are working class.

Ironically the Koreans round me at the last game got behind the team more than locals.......square that circle

Fine, what do you put the generally poor atmosphere down to then?

Results, apathy from fans in general..............
Not true, I have been going to Spurs since the early 70s, and decade upon decade the atmosphere has got worse. There is no correlation between our results and the atmosphere. Take Arsenal for instance, they have been far more successful than us over the last 20 years, but the atmosphere is still poor there. Man Utd have been incredibly successful, but again the stadium has always been very quiet. It isn't just Spurs, most premiership clubs are the same. There are two constants, and that's supporter demographics, and political correctness stopping us from singing the songs we want to sing. On the continent the ticket prices are less, the supporter demographic is very different, and unlike us they aren't ruled by woke

I have been going since the 90s and bar a little siege mentality in the mid 90s when fans would even get behind the likes of Sinton I would disagree, the crowd has always been influenced by whats happening on the pitch. The last season at WHL was the best I have seen but no shock its the one we lost no games and were flying.

The bold makes no sense to me, not sure how an example of Arsenal crowds proves anything about the specific point you are trying to make.

I think the fact Spurs fans have been asked to wait longer than most for success and this season has gone backwards in the league is likely to have a greater impact on enthusiasm than wokeness

Like I said, it's not just a Spurs thing. In actual fact the best atmospheres are at places like Palace and Forest, where they have been less successful than us. Of course, it changes a little from match to match. If we are 2-0 up against a top 4 side the atmosphere can be excellent, but what I'm talking about is the atmosphere in general over a period of a season. Back in the 70s the Park Lane/Shelf Side would start singing 30 minutes before the game, and they would sing right up until the last minute. They were nearly all working class lads, and we had a variety of songs stretching to over 20. Needless to say we could sing what we wanted without restriction. If we could get under the skin of the away teams it gave us an advantage. Travel to the continent and it's still the same. Believe me, your theory that it's down to a lack of success really isn't true. I can guarantee that if we were to win a trophy this year the atmosphere next year will be no different.

I guarantee if we are at home next year top 3, 4 points off top spot the atmosphere will be better than now.

I guarantee you we won't be top 3 or 4, more likely bottom 3 or 4. The atmosphere at the top clubs such as Liverpool, Arsenal, or Emirates Marketing Project is no better than ours. Our supporters should be on top voice when we are struggling, in order we can give them a boost. Unfortunately this is never the case

Hate to break it to you but the players don't give a fudge if you make any noise or not.

That's two different arguments though....

Totally and utterly wrong. So you believe that the crowd doesn't have an effect on the team?
When players are being honest (such as the secret footballer) they'll tell you that themselves.

The rest is fans convincing themselves that they have some kind of relevance outside their wallets.

£5-6 a pint is not expensive, you would struggle to get that in any bar in Glasgow City centre nevermind London.
Is that all it is in the ground?
Alcohol free beer is that much in lots of pubs - even up here in Norwich!

It is an interesting change - pubs now cost the same/more than the sports venues and music venues
