Ange is the fudging definition of live by the sword, die by the sword. I admire it but even pre the last 3-4 games he's put himself in position where genuinely I think he has to win a cup to stay after end of season, lose a few more games and drop out of the cups? it becomes way more short term.

It is not, to my eye, a physical accusation. It is one based in conviction. I have said (so obviously agree) that fatigue is an issue in all areas of the game, physically and mentally...but the main issue here is in the numbers versus who the manager trusts versus where we are in this rebuild versus what he did not get in the summer. He fudging asked for a LCB, he also asked for another right-winger. He got neither. Anyway, that debate can continue I'm sure...

And regarding Munn. Did I say 'vote of confidence'? Nowhere did I say that. What I suggested was that he plant a story on the long-term objectives of the club, including the accent on youth signings in the summer. Re-emphasize the direction of traffic. NOT a 'we believe in Ange' thing at all. More a calm overview of what the plan has been, where it is, and where it is going. That will remind people there is a cohesive flow and plan in place. The Athletic or a Sunday paper, that sort of thing. The only reason not to do something like that is because Ange doesn't want it/won't accept it. Albeit it would not be about him more than what this club believes in direction-wise...

I for one see a disconnect between the direction of the club and Ange's coaching performance.
Yes, i don't think Ange was really backed with much conviction in the summer but that still doesn't explain the poor showing in HIS coaching and after nearly 18 months the fact that we still don't look capable of being able to take a defensively solid approach (even for part of a game) and lose so many games that we are behind the likes of Brentford and Bournemouth and cannot get wins against promoted relegation fodder.

I'm sure you can look at things long-term and see some form of progress on the pitch: the main progress i see is downwards and i'm sre the club hierarchy are NOT happy about it, so i think any well-placed articles are pointless.

Ange is an experienced manager who himself says he goes out to win matches and wants to win things with Spurs, so if he's feeling the pressure that should be natural, no amount of 'supportive articles' in the media should affect that. Remember only a few weeks ago he said publicly it was 'all of him'...

No, he has said it's 'all on me' since he has got here but after saying it 500 times and certain players still letting him down maybe he's taking a new approach and seeing if they respond?

If there is one person who doesn't and wouldn't 'crumble' under pressure it's Ange, he quite openly doesn't give a flying F what you, me or the media think of him. But as is always the way, when fans want a manager out they make a big drama out of anything the manager says, been like that for years....

But you can't claim to be the most uncompromising person on planet Earth and 'take a new approach' all of a sudden. That's the problem with the character he's built for himself: if he doesn't want to slow the pace of the game down even for 15 minutes and if he won't make subs because we don't deserve to win, then he has to stick to the 'it's all on me' tag or accept that people will call him out for being a hypocrite.

I’d disagree. He looks like he’s feeling enormous pressure to me, and some of his decisions and actions of late would suggest that too.

Fair enough Mikey, forgive me if examples such as him answering directly and honestly a question specifically about Werner not him crumbling under pressure.

If he was feeling enormous pressure he would be doing the very thing some of you are complaining about and change tactics to try and get some points. But no, he is sticking to his philosophy and doubling down on it because thats what he believes in and won't be pressured into doing otherwise....

.....erm, that is literally the opposite of progress and evolution. When something works, great! Embrace it! When it stops working, make the required changes to make it work again. This is, assuming it is fit for its new surroundings. My long stud Adidas Mundials are great on a muddy Sunday morning; not so great on the astro on a Tuesday.

I see Gary O’Neil had a go at his own players yesterday. It’s what managers do when they’re under pressure and struggling for answers.
