Victimpool FC - Klopp leaving, grown men crying

well they haven't

- Look like only Konate in
- Wijnaldum, Shaqiri out (played significant parts in last two seasons)

wtf? I'd say they are 4th at this stage if the wheels don't come off (it threatened to last season)
They fudged up massively
To me their doing what we did
Extending players contracts to keep them happy
But not investing in the squad

It's weird, especially with City, Chelsea, United spending

A net spend of £11M, are they financially fudged?

Well the Red Sox also lost about 400m in revenue in the last year I think, so their owners are likely not doing GREAT but I doubt they're proper fudged.

But VVD is back, and as proven when he first arrived, can change their defensive quality dramatically.

Lack of squad freshening could be a problem ,(think finances are a struggle tbh) but there's more to come from Jota imo.

They are positives....just depends if the motivation or message is waning?

They are a good squad and Klopp has gotten a lot out of them but staying still when all your competitors are strengthening is never a good idea

As @Bedfordspurs mentioned, smacks of us in later Poch years

For me, if the squad doesn't burn out, they are 4th ..

Loads form jota
But firmino and mane seem dead on their feet

Certainly will be an interesting season for them.

If it's the motivation and message waning...then that could easily lead to the end of Klopp (just like at Dortmund)

Agreed. Seems like a bit of a make or break season for Klopp.
I have began to think (or at least consider) that, although imo it is the best way, the system/culture/happy family/buy in type manager, does have a shelf life and managers of that type (Poch, klopp, Nuno, Potter, Wilder, Tuchel) struggle to keep momentum as their philosophy is great but keeping it fresh is a problem.

It might literally need 'fresh ears' ie new players that haven't been listening to the same stuff for 2,3,4 seasons.

Unless another team offers him £500k a week

Mohamed Salah: Liverpool forward says he never wants to leave the club

The Egyptian has under two years left on his contract at Anfield and says his future 'depends on the club';

Last season showed how quickly their squad quality drops off especially when their 1st choice CBs are injured. Can't see them winning either the PL or the CL especially if VVD or one of their FB are injured for any length of time. Today was a great result though, made easier by Ole.
